Chapter 19
Any Trouble in the Night?
Define 'Trouble'...
You get back to the barn and everyone heads inside, it's about pitch black in there and the elves, who's sensory bonuses include superior night vision, have to carefully guide everyone up the stairs to the hay loft where you all will sleep. When you get there you find that among other things your 'peasant' unit did while you were out finding water is gather up the grasses they were cutting while clearing land for the fire pit area and what you privately think of as 'the quarry' and place them into eleven neat little piles up here in the hay loft for you and the others to sleep on... Which forcibly brings back to mind the image of Keishara's guts getting ripped out of her body by that boar, and you shudder, knowing you will have nightmares tonight.
You slowly fall asleep as the others arange the watch schedule, starting awake agian from fearful phantasms several times before at last slipping into restful slumber.
Yet, even there, the nightmares hound you, and you run pel-mel through meadow and wood being chased by the boar, it's head not attached to it's body but snaking out like a dragon's on a long cable of blood red energy. It almost catches up to you as you reach the edges of a mighty river, and you at last turn at bay pulling out your light saber crystal, hoping to slay it again the same way you did last time but it just looks at the crystal and it crumbles into golden dust!
That's when everything CHANGES: Suddenly there is a Banshee Cry, a warbling declaration of vengeance and **** from across the mighty river, which is really more like a narrow ocean, and rowing over on a massive long-ship is a host of angels, while the woman giving that yodeling wail of terror and destruction is: ~No, it can't be, she's dead!~ you think, but it IS! Right there before your eyes is Keishara, hale and healthy, wielding her Yew Longbow and wearing quilted armor of purest white silk, adorned with so many giant rubies and emeralds that it might as well be scale, while knocked to the bow is an arrow who's tip blazes with brilliant colorless flame, not white, which is all colors reflected or shining, not black, which is all colors absorbed, but giving off light that has no color, clear light that illuminates without tinting at all and from which the undead boar abomination that has hunted you all night quails in terror!
It turns to try to run, but that arrow is let fly and like a heat seeking missile unerringly targets the boar-thing's serpentine neck, striking it and setting it alight, the flames spreading over the entire creature and burning it to nothing, not even ASH left to mark it's passing. shortly after The long-ship grinds onto the shore, and Keishara jumps down running to embrace you.
"Keishara, what's going on, I thought you were dead...?" You exclaim as she hugs you tight around the neck and shoulders, then she looks into your eyes and says, in a gentile tone though the words are harsh, "Richard Tamarack you are the sorriest excuse for a Jedi Counselor I have ever met. I AM dead you lunkhead, don't you recognize where we are?"
"No, it can't be, I MADE THIS UP!" You exclaim suddenly seeing this place for what it is: the shores of the 'River Oceanus'.
Now her tone turns harsh. "BASED on actual mythology you twit! Where do you think the D&D people you stole it from got it?! Where do you think the people THEY stole it from got it?! This is one of the actual planes of the afterlife, of which there are more than you know: or can know. But that's not what I am here to talk about: I am here to talk about my grave, and my... Reincarnation." She finishes, somewhat evasively.
Justly rebuked you never the less forge ahead. "Well, since you seem more comfortable with the grave, let's start with that."
"OK, the first thing I need to say is: read your freaking quest parameters from now on, especially right after you complete part of them when they say they will update after you complete that part! You have 8 days AT BEST to consecrate my grave as part of the rest of the graveyard before my corpse rises as one of the Unhallowed Dead, and at worst slightly less than 24 hours." Keishara states, deeply worried. "Normally I would not have been able to cross the river without being interred in hallowed ground, but you declared me Atarah's first martyr just in the nick of time, and she showed up to take me across in person by special exemption."
You wait for her to say something else, but she doesn't, so you break the ice. "And Now this 'Reincarnation' thing you seem to be studiously avoiding?" You probe.
"Gods above I'm so embarrassed..." She mutters but then clears her throat and continues. "My judgement from the court was that I have not done enough with the life I was given to be worthy of sapient reincarnation again, I was going to come back as a mouse, a MOUSE! But Atarah interceded on my behalf, saying that she would pay for a humanoid body for me out of Her own store of Karma Points, IF you would agree to lessen the burden of it for Her tonight..."
"How do I do that?" You ask at once, your tone indicating that you have already decided to help, you just need to be told what to actually do.
"We have to have sex." Keishara mutters, looking away.
"Beg pardon?!" You exclaim, surprised.
"YOU NEED TO FUCK ME!" Keishara shouts in your face, her own pale skin beat red with embarrassment, but then calms down and elaborates. "You and I have to lie together here, and you have to cum inside me then without pulling out or going soft make ME cum. If you can do that then by Atarah's Blessing you will suck my soul back inside yourself along with your cum and the next fertile woman you have sex with will bear a child that will receive my soul when she is born." Keishara explains. "There are a few caveats and provisos though:" She says holding out the three fingers and thumb of her left hand, then ticking them down one by one.
"First, the closer the mother of baby is related to my old body, station, and affiliations the more of the power I developed in my previous life will carry over to the child and the more of my memories I will retain, which means the ideal choice for a mother for my new life is Filandariel because she is an elf, was part of my unit, and is the only one who is fertile right now. I don't know if you will be able to convince her to have sex with you again though, because of how badly the others reacted yesterday, but if this works you have to TRY, hard! Failing that the only other woman who is fertile right now is Crystal, and that could compensate me for the loss of memories and skills by making me a middle range '**** Sensitive' and eventual Jedi." Index finger goes down.
"Second, you CANNOT tell ANYONE in the mortal realm that you or the mother is carrying my soul before the child is born and takes her first unassisted breath, or the connection will snap! This has to be an absolute secret until my soul legitimately enter's my new body. You must SWEAR to me that you WILL NOT TELL A SOUL about my soul being transferred after you wake, and if you happen to talk in your sleep or something you must DENY EVERYTHING: I wont have sex with you unless you swear to this in Atarah's name." Middle Finger goes down.
"Let your 'yea' be 'yea' and your 'nae' be 'nae' for anything else is an evil." you quote and follow it up with "I affirm that I shall not tell anyone, and if I slip in the slightest way such as talking in my sleep I will deny everything, lie though it would be, for at that point I must chose the lesser of two evils."
She smiles and resumes explaining: "Third, If you come in me tonight, but cannot bring me to my full as well before your erection wilts, or if I cum first, I go on to my fore ordained judgment of becoming a mouse, but this is a choice of 'A CHANCE' at another sapient lifetime to earn more Karma Points and a higher next incarnation, or the certainty of becoming a mouse." Ring finger goes down, leaving only the thumb.
"Last Caveat: if we pull this off, holding my soul tethered to your and then my mother's body will cost each of us a total of 100 XP, putting me and my mother into XP debt, which will make the new me seem to be mildly retarded for at least the first few years. The way to get around that is for you or my mom to take me hunting, preferably big game like more dire boars or grizzly bears, but to keep us all safe while you do that you need to boost our TL and quality of equipment: firearms and the like so one shot deals with the beast before it's even in range to attack us." Her fist is now closed once more, and she looks at you expectantly.
