Chapter 6 by HiBeGi HiBeGi

What does Penny do?

Defend Herself...Or At Least Try To

In a near instant, Floating Array moved from its position behind Penny to in front of her, each of the swords spreading in front of her to shield her against the barrage blades that rained down upon her. The android was **** to put more power into her thrusters to keep herself in the air with each additional blade crashing into her. As Penny struggled, she glanced up at her enemy, who was now floating a meter above her due to Penny being pushed down from the barrage; the grin on her face had vanished and returned to the typical emotionless expression she held before.

The Protector of Mantle's teeth were clenched in frustration; she was being overwhelmed by the portals that her opponent was opening. The room they were fighting in was way too spacious; if she were to lead her to a narrow area, perhaps she would be able to get an advantage. But first, she needed to get out of the situation she was currently in; she needed a plan.

Penny would go full throttle with her thrusters, pushing herself toward her opponent, allowing her to get a clean hit on her. Penny would then follow this up by flying out of this room and into the more narrow hallways of the facility. From there, Penny would work on the rest of her plan. It was a simple plan, but it should be effective. Though before the android could do anything, she felt herself being struck from behind.

A direct hit from behind caused Penny's aura to diminish even further. The redhead turned around to see another rift had been opened from behind, and as it closed, another one opened. Penny wasted no time moving half of her Floating Array from in front of her to behind. She'd now need to defend both sides of herself from these energy blades.

Penny looked back at her opponent, only to see that the silver-haired girl had moved up close again, floating above Penny's shield of swords with her leg raised, poised to kick down on Penny. The android brought her arms up to block the attack but was nonetheless sent flying down from the attack. Penny crashed down onto the metal floor below her, the impact shaking the floating facility and leaving a large crater in the ground. Her green aura flickered again, draining even further from both the kick and the fall. Her opponent was strong, really strong. They had only been fighting for two minutes now, and Penny could already read that her aura was at its limit; another strong attack would cause it to shatter.

As Penny picked herself off the ground, she saw another rift open underneath her. The android let out an irritated grunt before rocketing off into the air to avoid the black blade that flew out of it. The rifts were beyond annoying. Penny dodged some more blades that were launched at her as she headed toward the room's exit. But, right as she did, several more rifts opened in front of her. Penny let out a gasp and quickly flew up as high as she could to avoid them, nearly hitting the ceiling in the process. "Target is attempting to gain an advantage by directing Nu into an enclosed space," Nu spoke up, causing Penny to turn around and look at her. The Mukakumo Unit was flying at full speed toward the android. "Procedures suggest precautions should be taken to prevent such an event from occurring." Nu continued on with her analysis, her voice ever monotonous.

Penny waited for her opponent to get close, and once she did, Penny swung all ten swords of Floating Array at her. But as she did, Nu-13 teleported once again, but unlike last time, the Anti-Sankinshin Weapon teleported directly in front of Penny instead of behind her, taking the android off guard. Nu grabbed Penny by the face and started to head downward, attempting to slam her into the ground.

To prevent this, Penny stabbed the Floating Array into the ceiling, using the strings attached to her and her swords to fasten her in place. With the help of her leg thrusters, the android managed to keep herself from being pushed down any further by her opponent. The two struggled in the air, both trying to push the other in the opposite direction, but unlike her redheaded target, Nu still had her weapons available for use. The wings of blades behind the silver-haired girl moved, now poised to stab the android. "Target's threat level analysis is complete: Threat Level C." Despite the robotic tone of her voice, Nu was mocking Penny.

Penny let out a muffled grunt against Nu's hand as she struggled; she needed to find a way out of Nu's grasp now and fast.

Does Penny manage to escape?
