Deeper into the woods.

You keep the towel since it's starting to seem like a item your going to need often and since your clothes are filthy you swap into your spares, your getting better at being prepared, but this really isn't the part of being a trainer you wanted to improve on. Your last preparation is to use the potions from your trainer kit to restore Chance and Weedle incase you need to battle a trainer.

The woods themselves contain rows and rows of thin trees that seem to go on forever, your sure you would lose your direction quickly if you left the main path, but the path itself is well worn and easy to follow. The soft rustle of the wind and the merry chirps of Pidgey give the forest a warm inviting feeling.

Despite your peaceful surroundings you remain alert and vigilant as you keep a eye out of trainers and wild pokémon alike. Your vigilance pays off when you spot the trainer long before he spots you, you move into the tree line and watch as he pokes around in the grass. The trainer is wearing a pair of short shorts and goofy looking safari hat on his head, and as you creep closer your pleased to see he only has a single pokéball on his hip. This looks like a trainer you could beat, and your going to need to win at least one battle today if you want to pay for things like food and lodging, already your belly is starting to complain.

You step out confidently and walk down the path towards him. Seems you didn't need to sneak since the trainer is oblivious to your presence until your right on top of him. "Excuse me, are you a trainer?" you ask him.

The young man jumps with a start, whirls around, then his jaw falls open as he looks you up and down "Wow..." he says dreamily "A real pokéslut in our forest."

You hate the word and everything it stands for "I'm not a slut! I'm a trainer!" you correct him angrily.

"Well since your a trainer, Lets have a battle." He says grinning and his confidence has you worried until he throws his only pokéball and a Weedle smaller then your own emerges, you give a deep sigh of relief and decided to test your own Weedle confident that Chance will win if it fails.

Both Weedle seem to know what to do since without orders the little worms immediately use there stingers to fence one another. The outcome is much like you thought it would be, his Weedle is smaller, slower, and much weaker then your own and it only takes moments before your Weedle overwhelms his.

"No fair, you must have cheated, no way your better at catching bugs then me!" he complains, causing you to worry about collecting the prize money from the sulking trainer but he pulls out his Pokédex and pays without issue. As you look at your new balance beaming with pride. The payout might have been small but its more then enough to keep you going for a few days, and knowing you earned it yourself helps boost your confidence.

Your confidence soars even higher when you turn intending to recall your Weedle and instead get to watch it evolving into a Kakuna before your very eyes. The Bug Catcher seems to forget he's sulking, you both watch in amazement as Weedle's skin glows and hardens "I've always wanted to watch a bug evolve!" he exclaims. The Bug Catcher seems more interested in your Kakuna then you are he even seems genuinely disappointed when you recall it.

"Hey, you seem really good with bugs, you should join our bug catchers club, I already asked the rest of the guys and they all agree it would be great to have our own pokéslut in the club!" he says excitedly.
