Deep forest path

You decide that the potential cover of the dense trees is worth the risk and follow the path leading deeper into the forest.

It doesn't take long for the heavier canopy to block out a significant amount of the sunlight, and you have to take extra care so as not to trip on any of the trees' exposed roots.

After walking form another hour you realise that there's no songbirds chirping away, come to think of it, you haven't seen any wildlife for a while now. The entire forest is eerily silent and what's more, you feel like you're being watched.

Part of you wants to call out to the silent forest and confront whoever or whatever is stalking you. As if reading your mind, you hear the the sound of a stick snapping behind you.
