Chapter 26 by Meaniehead Meaniehead

The Next Day...

Day 6: Chloe (A Call From Kailani)

Saturday passed like a haze — not fast or slow, just weighty. Like a blanket you couldn’t shake off.

The campus was alive. Sunshine, laughter, someone playing guitar out on the quad like they thought they were the main character in a movie. Couples everywhere. Holding hands, sharing drinks, leaning on each other like the world wasn’t anything to worry about.

You hadn’t noticed it much before, but today it landed hard. You watched a guy kiss his girlfriend as she handed him a drink, and a thought came uninvited:

You'd heard guys bragging about conquests, the number of girls they'd fucked, but to you right now it seemed far simpler to just be in a solid relationship with one girl than try to carve ever increasing notches on your bed.

One connection. One honest-to-god relationship where you didn’t need to think about strategy, or challenges, or what multiplier their blowjob might score. You weren’t bitter—exactly. Just… tired. The contrast hit.

And then another thought followed, a darker one:

What if one of those girls was already in the deck?

There were 52 women in play. You’d only seen 15.

What if one of those smiling girls already had a card in the system? What if someone pulled her next week and didn’t know she was taken? The logistics alone were hard. You weren’t likely to get far with someone already in a relationship. But if you did... what did that make you?

A relationship wrecker.

And her? You started to think slut, but stopped yourself. No. That wasn’t fair. That wasn’t how you thought. You settled on: a very open-minded woman.

And the poor bastard she was dating? Just some patsy getting played by a girl he trusted for a game he didn’t know existed.

You hadn’t run into that yet. Thank god. You hoped you never would, but it gave you pause.

Kailani had been different. Wild, open, absolutely into the spectacle—but clear about what it was. You’d both known where the lines were drawn, even as you blurred them. It had been terrifying. But exciting too. And clean, in its own strange way.

This? This was messier. And the more you saw of campus life from the outside, the more you realized how thin the line really was between a challenge and a regret.

By the time you got back to your room, your head was heavy with it all. You opened Chloe Davenport’s card again. Everything about her gleamed—high value, high gloss, high confidence. And if the rumor was true? She wasn’t just out of your league—she wasn’t in your league. At all.

None of your challenge cards made sense for a woman who’d never even looked twice at a man. You were holding a hand of poker, she was playing backgammon. Nothing worked.

Even so, you couldn’t help wondering: What’s her story?

She looked polished to the point of parody. But that kind of control doesn’t come from nowhere. What was she protecting? What had shaped her into someone so composed, so far removed, that even a simple flirt felt out of the question?

You hadn’t heard a thing from Kailani all day. You’d told yourself not to expect anything, but the hope hadn’t really left. It just curled up quieter in the corner of your brain.

Then your phone buzzed. Finally. You sat up fast. It was Kailani

You answered immediately. “Hey.”

Her voice was soft, steady. “Hey yourself.”

“You’ve got news?”

There was a pause. “Yeah. Chloe’s willing to meet. But there are conditions.”

You sat up straighter. “Name them.”

“She’ll meet you tomorrow. Late morning. Cassie and I have the studio booked—same setup as last time. But listen, and I mean this—this is her idea, her rules. You follow them to the letter or you walk away. There’s no middle ground.”

You nodded before you realized she couldn’t see. “Understood. I’m not looking to screw it up.”

She hesitated. “I know you’re not. You're a decent guy. I like you. That’s why I asked her.”

That surprised you. A little warmth hit your chest.

“She’s not into guys, you know,” you said quietly.

“I know,” Kailani replied. “But there’s a bit more to Chloe than you know. She’s… working something out. You just happen to be the guy she’s willing to test it with.”

Your mouth was dry. “Why me?”

She chuckled softly. “Because you didn’t try to sell yourself. And because she knows I don’t vouch for just anyone.”

“I won’t let you down.”

“Good,” she said gently. “Now, one last thing—she wants a copy of the video. For her OnlyFans account.”

You paused, then nodded. “That’s fair.”

“She’s not doing this for you. It's for her. Just... don’t make it harder than it needs to be.”

“I won’t.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow. Bring your calmest self.”

You smiled. “He’s all I’ve got left.”

She laughed quietly, then hung up.

You let your phone fall beside you on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. You still didn’t know how any of this would go. You didn’t even know how much of Chloe’s guarded exterior was truth and how much was a brand.

But you were going to find out.

And whatever her reasons were, you weren’t going to try to change her. Hell, you'd be lucky if she let you in enough to understand her. Whatever she gave you? Would be on her terms.

And for once, that felt like a good way to start.

Next... It's Time...
