The Show-Runner

First, a shooting contest (‘cause of course the hotel’s resident handgun enthusiast would take Harper to a shooting range on her date). Now, both Harper and Mattie have proficiency in firearms. Mattie’s expertise in handguns give her an advantage there, but Mattie’s lack of archery proficiency can counter-act on the last round. All of these shots are Dexterity attacks; Mattie’s Dex is +3, Harper’s is +2.

Round 1: Handguns (5 shots)

Harper: 11, 11, 10, 10, 11 Total: 53

Mattie: 9, 12, 12, 13, 9 Total: 55

Round 1 Goes to Mattie

Round 2: Rifles (5 shots)

Harper: 12, 13, 13, 14, 12 Total: 64

Mattie: 12, 12, 12, 9, 15 Total: 60

Round 3: Longbows (5 shots)

Second, another shooting contest. This time, big artillery shells blowing up space debris. These shots are going to be Intelligence attacks; both of their Intelligence modifiers are +3

Harper: 12, hit.

Round 2: Harper leads 1-0

Mattie: 8, partial hit (dead)

Harper: 9, partial hit

Round 3: Tie 1-1

Mattie: 9, partial hit

Next a fight between Beckie and Ariel. Adapting some Monster stat blocks for this in my head and rolling with it.

Water Weird: 9 to constrict, Beckie HP left: 130

Beckie: Charm Person on 6 mermaid from her staff, they auto-fail from exhaustion, 2 attack Ariel, 4 attack each other, 8 and crit fail on Ariel hits, Ariel HP left: 103, Merfolk A HP left:6, 5, crit fail, 5, and 10 on attacking each other, Merfolk B HP left: 2

Round 2:

Ariel: Wisdom save: 10, Cone of Cold, 8 on positioning, 7 and 9 on dodges from merrmaid, 5 from Beckie. 2 dead mermaids, Beckie HP left: 101, Wisdom save: 7, disadvantage on it for next round

Water Weird: 9 to constrict. Beckie HP left: 91

Beckie: psuedopod on water weird, 12 and 7 to hit, WW HP left: 22, eat memories on Ariel, Ariel save: 5, Ariel HP left: 61, -d4 on all her rolls now.

Mermaids: all 4 attack Ariel, 9, 9, 9, and 6 to hit, Ariel HP left: 55

Water Weird: 6 to constrict.

Beckie: psuedopod on water weird, 9 and 6 to hit, WW HP left: 10, eat memories on Ariel, Ariel auto-fail, Ariel HP left: 11, -d6 on all her rolls now.
