Dawning light

Morning finds you still tangled up with Melora, the rising sun peeking through the closed blinds. As you stir, she stretches, and smiles. “Morning already? I’d ask you to stay a while, but I know it’s a busy day.”

You chuckle. “It is. As comfortable as this is, we’re supposed to be setting sail this afternoon.”

She leans over and kisses you. “Well, at least I won’t be left behind. Go ahead, I’ll get cleaned up and join you in a bit. Apologies if I’m a little bit slow, I’m sore this morning…”

You smile. “My fault. Hopefully it was worth it?”

Her smile brightens the room. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Now go, I imagine that Alex and Ferra are waiting.”

With one more kiss, the two of you separate, and you dress quickly, attempting to smooth out your wrinkled clothes. You glance over at Melora as she gathers up her discarded dress, and watch the sway of her naked hips as she walks towards another doorway. Seemingly sensing your gaze, she glances over her shoulder and blows you a kiss, before disappearing into the other room. Smiling to yourself, you exit the building.

Outside, you find Ferra standing in the exact same spot she was when you went inside. You look at her curiously. “I’m surprised you’re still here!”

She nods. “I am guarding the door. I did not think you would want to be interrupted. Especially by Victor.”

She gestures, and you see the panther man leaning against a nearby tree, muttering to himself. Glancing over, he sighs. “You’re finished then? We can get started?”

You nod. “Yeah, Melora is…”

He cuts you off with a wave of his hand. “I don’t need to know. I still don’t approve, but it’s not my decision, as you said. She is her own woman. However, if you hurt her in any way, our next duel will not be so pleasant.”

Having said his piece, he gestures for you to follow, and walks towards the docks. You and Ferra follow behind, and the golem girl gently takes your hand. “Nicholas, he may not approve, but I do. She is a good person, and deserves happiness, as you say. I made Alex leave you alone last night as well.”

You grin. “Probably for the best, she’s a bit wild.”

Ferra nods. “I wanted Melora to have a special time. Like I did.”

She looks at you with her glowing eyes, and smiles. “And when the four of us are together, I will welcome her with open arms.”

You smile back at her. “That’s good. I want us to be happy together. I think I understand how my father ended up with such a big family now.”

Ferra nods. “In some ways, you are like him.”

You shrug. “I am who I am. By the way, how did you get Alex to leave us alone? She can be stubborn.”

Ferra looks away, seemingly a bit embarrassed, if that’s possible. “I…tired her out.”

You look at her in confusion. “Wait, what? What do you mean?”

Ferra looks back to you, and actually giggles.
