Daverius Swornsword

Daverius was her choice of stand-in for the time being. He was a tall and sturdy man of about 40 years in age, with a mane of blond hair. He was a half-elf who with powerful muscles, green eyes, and a face that had obtained him several admirers.

Of course, his physical looks were not what had put him in this position. He was a vassal who possessed significant skill in both sword and politics, and had served by Sabrina’s side for about 25 years now.

By no means was Daverius her most trusted ally, or the best for the position from a skill stand point, but he was good enough to be able to hold the fort down during the peace time that Sabrina had earned the kingdom.

None of this was what ultimately made her choose him though. At the end of the day, Daverius was a eunuch. He had been incapable of producing heirs for a long time now. As such, there was little to no chance that anybody could form any kind of uprising of coup around his insecure bloodline.

All of this meant that he’d be the best to hold down the fort in the most peaceful and safe manner possible. So when he confirmed his understanding of the situation and the role he was to play, and affirmed his willingness to do so, Sabrina let out a sigh of relief when she was unable to detect a lie from him.

“Thank you, Daverius,” she said. “Then I, Queen Sabrina Palyrius of the Astorian Kingdom hereby declare you, Lord Daverius Swornsword, as my Right-Hand, and as acting king during any times in which I am not in the realm.”

The scribe present in the hall recorded it, and Sabrina presented him with a small crown and a royal sword to symbolize his status.
