How will Modeus's story begin?

Dating, but it's not quite how she wants it to be

Chapter 3 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

While the other demons were largely cooped up in the house with the Helltaker, Modeus had not given up her quest to study the scandalous, pagan courtship practices of humans. This meant a lot of field work, ultimately culminating in her trial run, a proof of concept: a date with a real human male. The venue was the type she just didn't encounter in hell, decorated with a pretty fountain of a cherub statue pouring water from a jug, nice white tablecloths and neatly folded napkins, crystalline glassware, waiters in little bow-ties, the whole nine yards. Something about the black walls, red carpet, and white tablecloths in combination felt just a touch too familiar for her... she'd been craving the exotic, something like one of those "fast food drive-throughs" she'd heard about. Beggars couldn't be choosers; she decided she could settle for this ritzy place that seemed like somewhere Lucifer would fit in, if they'd swap the cherubs for imps.

For now, her prerogative was to prove to herself that she could be the perfect date companion. Modeus was a demon of lust... that meant that when it came to the bedroom part of the deal, she knew all the ins, the outs, and the best speed and friction used to accomplish all of those ins and outs. When it came to dating, however, she was worse than uneducated; much of what she knew about demon courtship was counter-intuitive and worked against her. You couldn't chain your partner to the bed... you couldn't use a whip for negative reinforcement... you couldn't grab his dick for positive reinforcement... if demon courtship was an anything goes free-for-all, human courtship was more like one of Milana's games. There were all sorts of missteps you had to avoid or else, you'd just sunk in several tens of hours for no reason!

It was all so fascinating. Modeus couldn't get enough of this new challenge in the field of love.

Across the table was the man who'd invited her. It wasn't the Helltaker... Modeus was using one of those nifty human dating apps to find hookups. These were practice rounds! When the time came to take the Helltaker on a real date, Modeus wanted to show him that she'd evolved from a demon who only knows lust to one who is a perfect master of all things horny, including the courtship and foreplay aspect. Plus, there were a lot of other perks, too. When your first impulse wasn't to bash a guy's knees with your hammer, it turned out you could get some pretty good food out of the deal! The demon licked her lips hungrily while scanning a menu full of food with foreign names she hadn't mastered yet... her heart-shaped pupils locked on something chocolatey.

It wasn't pancakes, but not everything had to be pancakes! "Lucy should really broaden her horizons like I have. I'm a woman of culture now; I try all sorts of things." Modeus sighed, shaking her head at the thought of the goofy CEO, staying in and making pancakes with the Helltaker, shoulder by shoulder, all day long. That wasn't romance! Romance wasn't about pancakes, it was about... whatever a crepe was!

"I'll take the chocolate/banana crepes!" The demon gave her order with a small frown, imagining what sort of fancy treat would come out; her tail swished back and forth behind her chair as hearts drifted up strangely from about her ears. "What are you having?"

"Well, you made breakfast sound so good..." Her date was a good-looking guy with fair skin and black hair, the kind you see in romcoms all the time, who looks slightly unapproachable just from being so handsome and gets asked about whether or not he's an actor. He was making the best of his first-ever date with a demon.

"Breakfast?" Modeus tilted her head and blinked, uncomprehending. Had she just ordered breakfast...?

Some time later, a plate of crepes came, looking exactly like the pancakes that the Helltaker made for his demon harem all the time. Modeus knit her brow and played with the food on the plate, wearing a slight scowl. "Lesson learned... crepes are pancakes..." Murmuring to herself, she wrote in a small, red journal; she'd picked up the angel, Azazel's, habit once she realized how useful it would be for her research.

One very familiar meal later, it was time for Modeus to put what she'd learned into action. The demon had learned that humans liked things gradual... the more gradual the better. It was weird, but that seemed to be the way of them. She reached across the table, her eyes wide and expectant, then patted her fingers up and down upon the tablecloth. This was the best part she'd experienced so far... this behavior always solicited the same reaction. The guy would grab hold of her hands, right there in the restaurant, with everyone watching! Sure enough, this one smiled and followed suit too... She rubbed her pale thumbs over the gentleman's hands, marveling at the sensation. Next, he'd offer to pick up the tab, which was also useful, because she hadn't figured out the money part of relationships at all yet.

Now came the hard part... She'd gotten from point A to point B... now how to get from point B to point C? It was too tricky! The guy always asked her to come back to his place, she said yes, then once they were there, the two of them just had plain old sex, until the natural stopping point where she'd either broken their pelvis, dehydrated them to a mummy-like state, or induced a form of hysteria, any of which meant hospitalization. That couldn't be right... it was so much different in the romance novels. How did she extend out this romantic part that she kept reading about?

"Babe, you're looking kind of down. Something on your mind?" The man across the table noticed she hadn't talked much the whole time.

Modeus rested her chin on her fist, her tail drooping against the plush carpet as she circled her water glass with one finger. "Mmm... I was just thinking about this guy I like. I can't figure out how to take the next step with him..."

The date lowered his eyebrows and pointed one finger at himself, as if to ask if she was talking about him. When she shook her head no, he only became more confused.

"I've had sex with so many boys..." Modeus sighed.

"Uuuuuum..."

"... And it's always the same... Just long, hot, sweaty sex where they stick their hands up my turtleneck and feel my boobs, then I suck their cock, then, once we're both really wet, they slip it into my pussy or my ass and pound me in every position, all over the room..."

The man nodded eagerly, as though taking mental notes.

"But I want something more than that! I want... to feed him a strawberry, then use my thumb to clean his face, then lick it off the tip! I want... to watch romcoms together! I want to do all of those other scandalous things you can't talk about in public, like kissing and taking care of a dog together and writing love letters and standing up to his bullies when nobody else in the class will!"

Her date had completely lost track of where she was going with this... understandable, given that her idea of exciting (wholesome) romance had become utterly warped by reading all genres of romance, often in the wrong sequential order.

Modeus placed both hands atop one another on the table, then sighed deeply once again, her alluringly enormous bosom heaving with the gesture. "I'm sorry. You probably don't want to hear me talk about such lofty dreams. You probably just wanna have sex in the car and then all over your house like a normal date, right?"

The guy nodded dumbly.

"Sorry... I'm just not in the right mood tonight. Thanks for dinner, though..."

Modeus had felt pretty bad for her date, so she decided to give him a quick blowjob in the back alley; that was her version of a kiss on the cheek. While she appreciated the feeling of his hands digging through the fluff of her white hair, fixing her head on the guideline of his cock while she bobbed her head back and forth along its length, it was old hat. She barely even felt like draining his life force through his penis... As he released a load of jizz down her throat, she waved one hand dismissively, then backed off. Modeus gulped the load down quickly, with speed suggesting she barely tasted or registered the cum, then frowned. "Sorry... I wasn't really into it..."

"Th-That's what you call not really into it?!" He supposed he did notice fewer hearts drifting up from her head. "Look, uh, if you're ever feeling... down... or like uh... 'not up to it' again... hit me up, okay?"

"Yeah... Sure..."

Modeus' date finished driving her to the Helltaker's house so she could head in for the night, noticing with some awkwardness that it was quite clearly a man's house inhabited by several guests who were all awake at this late hour of the night. Once she exited the vehicle, he was left with his thoughts for a bit... then surprised, as Modeus knocked on the glass lightly with one fist. She leaned her whole upper body through the window, smiling bashfully. "Um... I hope you don't think I'm too slutty... but can we do one more thing before I head in?"

The guy nodded shamelessly. The last minor detour had gone pretty well for him.

"Would you... pat me on the head?"

With a blank frown, the guy obliged her.

Modeus gave a guilty, wide smile, pressing both hands to her hot cheeks in response to the sinful pleasure of a first date head-pat. Her lips quivered in ecstasy; a bead of drool even began to creep from one corner of her mouth. "I really am a slut...!" she thought to herself, but at the same time... she couldn't help but picture it. What would it be like to have that kind of this kind of relationship with the Helltaker, with snuggling and skinship whenever she wanted? "I'm sorry! I have to go!" Modeus pulled herself out... after some effort, once her sweater-puppies got caught in the window... then ran for the house to the safety of her room.

"Before the end of the night... I have to figure it out! How do I take my relationship with the Helltaker to that next level?!"
