What did Eekaa come back with?
Date With A Dragoness: Part Four - Boots and Feels
“Alright, stand up so we can both see you in the mirror dear.” Ari requested.
Doing as told, I leaned into Ari, getting half carried to my feet while she also ascended. In the mirror was the complete visage of Ari’s design, the beautiful dress, the exquisite bra, the glimmering harness, all of it was stunning on my body, almost unreal now that it was properly overlaid. It felt as if I had undergone a complete change, from a simple working class to royalty. Was I even still a kobold?
A rough voice came from behind, “mm, princess.” Eekaa said, the smile reaching her voice.
“I’m not-” I didn’t bother to protest any further, the mirrors catching my eye again. I do look like one after all, from the top of my neck, to the dress barely dragging on the floor.
“Yes dear, you do look very much so like a princess.” Ari commented, now standing at my side holding something. She continued speaking, “now, you need these too, they will be the perfect height.”
She was holding the item that Eekaa had brought in, similar to a pair of slippers with a raised heel and enclosed toes, different to anything I’d seen before.
“I assume those are shoes, right?” I asked, unsure. Ari was very thorough in her measuring the other day, so it wouldn’t surprise me that they were.
“Very astute, they are a pair of very special shoes that I made specifically for you today. I do apologise if they are uncomfortable, mixing silk and leather is a pain I have yet to master.” Ari said, a tone of annoyance in her voice. She knelt down, looking up at me and expectantly holding out the left shoe.
My face heated up a little as I lifted my skirt to hold out my foot. Ari gave me a look.
“Oh I see, taking the title of princess to heart, hmm? Very well dear, anything for her majesty.” Ari politely giggled, taking delicate hold of my foot. I thought this is what she had wanted from me to begin with, but I was mistaken, my face now practically glowing past my scales.
Ari, seemingly enjoying my little panic, kept smiling to herself as she guided the shoe onto my foot, the delicate fabric slipping on with some effort. It stayed firmly in place, as if it had shrunk to my ankle somehow. It reminded me once again tonight that Ari was beyond talented.
Getting the other shoe on in the same way, much to my embarrassment, I stood fully, my dress no longer dragging on the ground, instead gliding above it, the shoes poking out from under, an odd look for my feet compared to normal. They weren’t bad however, the matching footwear completing the look.
“There you go, all perfect, and ready for our date, hm? How do you feel dear?” Ari asked, also appreciating the complete look.
“I-”
It dawned on me that I had nothing to say, it was gorgeous, and all I could really do was stare. Like a scene from a tale of some random runt suddenly making the right friend and being able to experience something she’d have never guessed at. That was me now. I didn’t even know where to begin.
Ari looked down to me before speaking, “Speechless I see, an apt response.” She took a moment before sighing lightly, “Ah, there’s nothing left to do except wait for the carriage now, take a seat hm? And no, you can’t sit in my lap, I’ll be far too tempted to take my beautiful designs off you far too soon. We can of course try that later. Eekaa darling?”
The orc responded with a jovial grunt, having just been watching from the couch yet again.
Lightly, Ari asked about Eekaa’s life, chatting to pass the time, not that Eekaa responded directly often. Ari was not phased by the seemingly one-sided conversation in the slightest, remaining standing to talk from where she was beside me. Meanwhile, I still stood in the mirror, my eyes traveling over every spare gem, every little delicate pattern, every extra perfectly sewn thread.
With Ari’s voice thrumming in the background, I half listened while turning, looking into the other mirrors, or just staring at the pieces.
Half to myself, I whispered, “Thanks Ari…”
In the middle of a sentence, the dragoness stopped and smiled.
“Anytime dear. Come have a seat.”
I sit and listen, occasionally glancing back in the mirror across from me.
