Dare

Might as well set the bar for this game, he thought. “Dare.” He said confidently looking Sarah right in the eyes. If she looked disconcerted by his confidence she didn’t show it, in fact she cracked a smile at his display of confidence.

“A dare, huh? Hoping to get lucky? What if I wasn’t so inclined?” Sarah teased as a couple of his friends chuckled quietly. She was trying to shake his confidence with what ifs, and well it was working, what would she actually make me do? Apparently she has a wild side, that could be either good or bad for me.

“Hey, you sure about this? Why don’t you wait a few rounds and see what kind of dares are being dished out?” Taylor advised Zack.

“I appreciate it Taylor, but I’m trying to send a message that I’m not afraid to do what’s needed.” Zack said.

“You know that the likelihood is that you aren’t going to like the dare right?”

“I’ll deal with it when the time comes.” Zack whispered back. While Zack and Taylor were having their chat, Sarah was chatting with Heather while keeping an eye on Zack and Taylor from the corner of her eye. When she saw them finish talking, she finally spoke up for everyone to hear her.

“Well then Zack, why don’t we get started?” Sarah said with a sly smile. This already wasn’t going the way Zack had planned, he had hoped that Sarah would go easy on him for old times sake, but her behaviour made him think otherwise. He swallowed hard, and awaited his judgement from the beauty.

“Why don’t we?” He said nonchalantly, or as close as he could muster with how nervous he had become.
