Danny considers crossing a line

When they were actually working together, Danny's mind didn't wander. He didn't even really consider that he knew, at this point, that she wasn't wearing anything under the dress, and Caroline didn't acknowledge anything. As they worked, Danny's fantasy mind didn't tell any stories. He was good at separating that. It was only when the work paused, when he went home, when he was away from the reality -- then his mind came alive.

Even though he swore never to get mixed up with clients, his mind sometimes would propose the idea: _come on, Danny, she's adorable, why not ask her out? _Truth was, Danny also liked the distance. He wasn't great at actual intimacy, and he knew that he needed the camera as a protective shield. If he just met Caroline at a party or on the bus or whatever, he'd never even venture to speak to her. But because the door was open through work, that became the permission for them to interact. He knew that even if he ran into Caroline in a week in a non-work setting, he'd barely be able to say two words to her without a camera between them.
