You and Stephanie have been friends since high school. When you both got into the same college you decided to rent an apartment together rather than live in the student accommodation.

Your parents and hers were all against the idea initially. A boy and a girl sharing an apartment with no 'adult supervision' can only lead to problems. You both finally convinced them that you are just friends, and besides if something was going to happen it would happen even if you're staying in separate apartments.

You wish your parents had been right, you've had a crush on Stephanie since the day you met her but nothing has ever happened. You're pretty sure you've been friend-zoned. On the other hand, you've never told her how you feel. Maybe there's a chance that she likes you too but is afraid to say anything. But then what if you tell her and she doesn't feel that way. It would make everything awkward. Could you still share a house? Could you still be friends?

"What's wrong?" Stephanie interrupts your thoughts as you walk home from class together. "You look like something is troubling you."
