Chapter 4 by FictionLord FictionLord

Who do we follow?

Daniel Walker, the 19-year-old son of a very conservative Christian family

It was another new day in summer. The birds were out chirping, the sun was shining brightly, and the morning breeze was rustling the leaves. Yes, today was a beautiful day.

My mom gently placed a large plate of eggs and bacon on the table in front of me, and kissed me on the forehead. "Here you go, sweetie," she said with a cheerful voice.

She did the same for my brother and sister who were sitting beside me. It was part of her little morning ritual, whenever she cooked breakfast for our family. Even if we were no longer kids, she still insisted on doing so... And how could we refuse? I mean, coming from a woman like that... Just look at her. Having just turned 41, she didn't look a day over 30 and still had a beautiful figure.

Taking a seat for herself, she had us all say grace before we were allowed to eat. You see, my family is very conservative and Christian. In fact, our whole small town in rural America lived by those old beliefs. But that doesn't mean I'm entirely ignorant, as much as the adults here have tried to keep us younger individuals in the dark.

While the pastors in church spoke of outside evils, and my parents warned me about the sinful people beyond town, I had already discovered what the real world was all about. Turns out that the internet is a fantastic tool for research, and my parents aren't tech-savvy enough to restrict our access. What I found on there was at first shocking and disgusting. Yet, the more time I spent researching, the more I became intrigued, and soon my disgust towards the outside world became longing: a longing to take part in the debauchery that other young men like me got to have... Sometimes, debauchery involving a son and his family...

"Honey, are you okay? You haven't touched your food." The sudden sound of my mother's voice broke me out of my trance.

"Nothing's wrong, mom. I was just daydreaming," I replied. Quickly I began chowing down on my eggs, while discreetly attempting to adjust my growing erection. Since I learned about Oedipal Zones, my imagination has been growing a bit out of control.

"So when is dad coming back?" My sister asked.

Samantha was the oldest sibling at 22, and was honestly a very attractive woman. She and I got along decently enough, but we weren't exactly close per se. Samantha had her own lifestyle, and I had mine. As such, our personalities were a bit too different to really find anything to bond over. I don't know if she holds the same values as my parents do regarding their conservative and religious ideas, but if she doesn't, she certainly acts the part very well around everyone.

"He shouldn't be much longer. He's only out to get milk," my brother said quietly.

My brother Lucas was still in his pajamas. It was pretty much his standard uniform, since he never left the house. He was very much a homebody, who'd rather read books than go outside. He was 18, only 6 months younger than me... Yet people often found it hard to believe that we were brothers. While I stood at the same height as my dad at 6'0, Lucas had the unfortunate luck of only being 5'4 like his mom and sister. On top of that, he was also a very soft-spoken and shy person. Sadly he got bullied a lot in high school, with many guys teasing him and calling him "girly" for his meek personality and lithe body.

It was always up to me to step in and protect him from his bullies... Not exactly a fun time, but I guess it did help us become very close brothers. Out of all my family members, both of us knew we could rely on each other for support.

As we continued eating, there was a sudden sound of the door being slammed open, jolting us all up in surprise. Suddenly my dad rushed in with a flurry of excited shouting: "Everyone! I did it! I won the lottery!"

"I won the lottery." Just a few words, and we knew immediately that our lives were going to change forever.

As an average family in a small town in the middle of nowhere, we always lived a modest life. Our house was small, we didn't spend much on luxury items, and we didn't get to go on trips. But now, with a massive surge of cash coming our way... And I'm talking about double-digit millions, here... The possibilities of a life of luxury were on everybody's mind.

We spent that whole day together, talking about what to do first. Many ideas were thrown about on what could be bought, what improvements could be made to the house... But it was when I gave my input that all that talk came to a screeching halt.

"What if we moved somewhere else ?" I offered. The sudden silence and stares in my direction were a bit unnerving, but I remained confident. I had been fantasizing about Oedipal Zones so much lately, and I couldn't pass up this chance to bring us there.

"Move? Why would we want to move?" My dad asked. "You know how bad it's getting out there."

"I know, but I was just thinking about what everyone was wanting, and... Maybe we can find everything we want all at once, in a different town? They can't all be that bad, right? Maybe there's a town out there that'll meet all our needs--The house, community college, everying!"

My parents seemed to contemplate it for a while, before my mom spoke up. "Well, there aren't really any houses bigger than this, around here... And you guys do need to think about your future education... Maybe if there's a nice place out there for us, we might think of moving."

Internally, I began doing a victory dance. My offer wasn't outright rejected, and my parents looked like they were possibly willing to accept it. Even my brother and sister looked like they were contemplating it. The only thing left was to pick the right place, and find a way to convince them to go there. But to do that, I'd need to work on a big lie... I was going to need my brother to help me with this.

What's next for the Walker family?
