Not this time, right?
Damn it...
Father Lin's House - The Next night
You pull at the collar of your shirt, it's uncomfortably tight and your hair is slicked back, which is also annoying.
Xara pulls your hand away and fixes the collar, frowning at you the same way mothers do to younger children "Stop fiddling, Father Lin already doesn't like you" You hold a hand to heart, feigning a wound at their words "Don't give him another reason to, especially before we break the news."
"We?" You ask them.
"Yes we, you're here to help me no? That means helping me tell Lin."
You sigh and nod resolutely "Okay, let's do this."
Xara smiles at you and hooks your arm and theirs' together "Thank you again Dillon, I don't think I'd have been able to do this alone."
You smile at them and go to speak until the door in front of you opens widely, Father Lin standing in the frame "Ah, Xara!" He glances over at you and his smile falters "And... You."
You nod at him as Xara bows formally "I hope you don't mind that I brought Dillon along Father?" They say, sounding a lot more confident than usual "He and I have something we wish to discuss with you and Edric."
Father Lin strains to strengthen his smile and looks at Xara "Of course child, it matters not who enters my home, so long as they are respectful."
He glares at you, his smile still plastered to his face and you smile smugly "Of course" You bow dramatically "Father Lin."
"Then please, enter my home and take the Gods with you both."
What now?
