"NO, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!" Humanity is a lie society tells us, you can start to see those lies when you look at everything from an outside view. "FUCK, PLEASE I'LL DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!" But the moment you do, you become an outsider to everyone, a pariah, less than human. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE, I'M HUMAN JUST LIKE THE REST OF YOU! SHIT SHIT SHI- AHHHHHHHH!" And when you become less than human, it only takes a single excuse for them to throw you out like trash. "Why... I don't understand... What did I ever... do to deserve... this." Humans all pretend to be good people but we all have a beast inside of us. I simply accepted mine as human nature. It's ironic really, I end up dying to the beasts inside others simply for becoming one with my own. What a twist of fate, they murdered me while others simply turned a blind eye.

Well, now I've been given a chance to truly live. I was quite surprised by the existence of gods and demons. They only furthered my understanding of the world and the true nature of humankind. Darkness encompasses everything that entailed survival and natural forces while Light encompasses manmade ideals that were created to control people. I however learned my lesson from my previous life, I would not be so open about the truth. I would remain a shadow, slowly building to a point where I didn't have to fear. Never again would I feel so helpless and controlless of my own life. My name is Dalen Orben and I have become the monster I always knew I was.

Crying, the feeling of warmth, the smell of ****, the sight of corpses, and the taste of blood. These are the sensations I awoke to, I was in the middle of a former battle. I would have retched if in my old life but somehow, this all excited me to no end. I felt good, no, great. I found a puddle of blood and was able to view myself, I felt an internal laugh as I did. I looked like a massive Velvet Worm, I was the size of a large dog. So this is the monster I am, a velvet worm, this is too funny. I began to investigate my surroundings and found I was indeed in the middle of the aftermath of a battlefield. The bodies were for the most part human with somewhat uniformed armor. Others were small lizard humanoids along with larger ones. That's when I finally noticed the HUD along with God's Eye working in tandem.

Kobolds and Lizardmen had attacked a merchant convoy but it was a trap that they walked right into. I was able to see a few bodies were still alive, though barely. Except for one Lizardman who appeared to only be **** and barely hurt. There were also two women, one of which was kneeling beside a body and was the source of the crying. The woman who was crying was kneeling before a body, she was young, her name was Freda and the body she was kneeling beside was her lover. I could learn a lot from a person just by looking at them, like the fact that she no longer desired to live. The other woman however caught my Eye far more. Her name is Eryn Flete and she was just standing, leaning against her carriage. Short red hair and for a moment, it seemed she saw me with her piercing green eyes. She was wearing what was to my eyes a combination of a sunhat and a witch's hat. She's a merchant by trade and has always had an interest in animals, she even had a pet ferret.

She exuded confidence despite the fact she had very little strength or power. This was especially evident when the lizardman who was **** rose and spotted them. My Eye saw him too, Kuzasz was his name and he was one of the leaders of this ambush. I saw his anguish, sadness, and rage upon seeing the battlefield. None of this showed, however, it was intriguing. From what fantasy I understood before, Lizardmen were emotionless but he was showing far more than even the woman grieving for her lover. I saw that he was quite an experienced warrior but was knocked **** by the first impact in his charge. His mind however was now set on **** as he grabbed a blade and approached the women.

Once again, I saw something strange in those sharp green eyes of Eryn, I wasn't about to let her just die right here. Freda put up quite a depressing fight as her lack of will to live conflicted with her want for ****. She was barely a threat to Kuzasz as he swatted her sword away and cleaved her arms off. To anyone else, his attacks looked cold and calculating but I saw the truth... The truth was he was making her suffer for the **** of his friends. Her screams were soon cut off by her head falling onto her lover. As I approached, as quickly as I could without being noticed, he turned his head toward the last human. She remained calm, almost disinterested which seemed to only make him angrier. He dropped his sword and slowly walked up to her, standing easily a head taller.

It wasn't until she saw me did her expression changed from being relaxed to confused. I crept forward and just as he was reaching out to grab her, I cast my first spell and paralyzed him. His body went stiff from an invisible **** as it fell over. I looked at Eryn for a moment and saw she feared me but had no intention to attack me, nor did she show her fear. I moved over to the stiff body of Kuzasz and saw his confusion, fear, and rage. Deciding not to experiment at this moment, I simply wrapped myself around his neck and squeezed against no restriction. I saw his final thoughts of his failure, his now-dead friends, and his family. I relished the moment as his warm thoughts turned to panic and crazed madness before he finally faded from this world.

My first kill in this world and boy did it reward me. Not only with the old familiar satisfaction, I knew long ago but also with experience. Killing a pretty strong lizardman earned me a couple of levels, I would save those for later once I knew whether I wanted to focus on my monstrous features or magic. I turned to see Eryn was sitting against the wheel of her carriage staring at me with the closest look of worry I've seen from her so far. Deciding that I should have someone who doesn't want to kill me right off the bat would be useful, I make a choice. I cast another spell and my form changes to that of a young boyish man with neck-length black hair with narrowed eyes, a form which I knew quite well as it was my own. I bowed and greeted her "Hello ma'am, my name is Dalen Orben. I do apologize for frightening you but it's not smart for me to roam about the wilds as a human."

She stammered as she rose to her feet, "A-ah, I see..." Her gaze was bouncing up and down, which is when I realize I didn't include clothing in my polymorph spell. "I suppose you could use some clothing." I saw her gaze and how she would rather see me without clothes but I made no mention. "Sure, I could probably use some. I could also use some answers to some questions of mine when you've got a moment." She moved around to the back of the carriage where she pulled out some pretty nice robes. "Here, you can wear these. As for your questions, we should probably speak elsewhere as I also have questions." And so she hopped up onto the front of the carriage and helped pull me up beside her. She was beautiful, with smooth bronze skin, a full curvy figure, and a pretty face.
