Cy (Completed)

A schoolgirl stepped in and took a quick look around the bar. From her beige uniform, Sy could tell that they went to the same college. As she got closer, he noticed she had small eyes just like him and a familiar mole above her lips.

He quickly realised who she resembled.

“What the…” The two exclaimed in unison and froze as their eyes met. It was like looking through a filter and seeing the gender-bent version of themselves. Except this time, they were both real human beings.

“Here’s your Metropolitan Roam. Made from a glass of Soulglad.” The young blonde woman gently placed the drink down and turned to the girl. “Hi, what would you like to drink?"

“I’ll get the same as him.” She replied. The young blonde woman immediately left to make the drink.

A myriad of theories flooded Sy’s mind. He took his first sip and asked,”So, are you a clone? A robotic clone? Or you from a universe where everyone is the opposite gender?”

“No, I’m not a clone. And if you’re not one either, then I’ll go with your second theory.” She took a seat, talked about how Captain America is female in her universe and asked,”Did you ask a girl out today?”

“Yes.”

“What did she say?”

“No.”

“That confirms it.”

Both of them sat in silence as they remembered the bitter taste of rejection (which was still fresh in their heads).

The girl's drink arrived not much later. It was only then that the conversation continued.

"So, what's the name of this 'female version of me'?

"Cy."

"No change there. 'SY' ?"

"No. 'CY'."

The two socially awkward individuals realised the conversation was going nowhere. Yet, they knew all they wanted was some good company.

And they found it in each other.
