Cursing Malfoy with his broken wand

The Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams stand face to face, off field, both groups giving each-other disgusted glares. Ron and Hermione stand amongst the Gryffindors, glaring with them at the new Slytherin Seeker, Draco. Hermione finds the courage to taunt Malfoy, “At least nobody on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in!” Ron smirks at the comeback, she has been showing the Slytherin Bully her first side recently, and he more than deserves it.

Draco then retorts, digging his moral position deeper into obvious bigotry, “Nobody asked you, you filthy little Mudblood!”

Ron feels as though he’s just been hit with a sledgehammer. White spots distort his vision and his teeth clench, he mentally reeks from simply hearing the slur thrown near him, even though it clearly isn’t meant for him. On his side, Hermione seems to pick up on his reaction, as well as the entire Gryffindor Team’s. A few of the more level headed players hold the others back in an attempt to stave off a bare knuckle brawl, but Harry is out of the loop and can’t react quick enough to snag Ron’s arm, even with his expert Seeker reflexes.

It has been a couple months since Ron’s wand nearly snapped when he and Harry had crashed the Weasley family car into the Whomping Willow, but since Ron had never gotten it professionally repaired it still tends to miscast. With rage clouding his wisdom, Ron levels his wand at Draco and unleashes a rage-fueled spell.
