Curses

I do the math and see I need 13 more Wisdom to read the Curse Spellbook. I add the points and take out the book. I read it and check my notifications as it vanishes into thin air.

New Milestone: Wisdom 8

You've gotten your Wisdom to 200! Rewards: Your body's fully adjusted to the mana, permanently raising your MP Regen/Minute by three.

New Spell: Apply Curse Lvl 1

Apply Curse allows you to, as the name implies, apply Curses to items or people. The curse's power is determined by your Skill Lvl and the level of the target. You can choose if the Curse will be permanent or not. The longer the Curse lasts the less effective it will be. If the target has a will the Curse will be weakened by their Willpower unless they consent to the Curse, then it'll be enhanced.

New Curse: Weaken

The Weaken Curse will permanently lower the afflicted's stats. This could be lower levels on a person or lowered stats like Strength or Agility. It could also weaken items, by making them do less damage or weakening the effects of any boosts they give.

New Curse: Slowed

The Slowed curse will cause the afflicted to be slower. They will lose a lot of their Agility if cast onto a person. Any items will become heavier, making them harder to move.

New Curse: Truth

The Truth Curse will cause the target to be unable to trick or deceive others. Any items will be unable to use any illusion magic or skills and will be impossible to hide, even with another's magic. Any person will be unable to lie or use illusion magic.

New Curse: Mana Flux

The Mana Flux Curse can only be cast by Curse Masters. This Curse will drain the target's mana. Any items with this Curse will consume more mana when any of their skills are used, only if the skill requires mana. If not or if the item has no skills then any time it is used, either to attack (weapons) or defend (shields or armor) the item will drain a few points of MP from its wielder. If a person gets afflicted with this, then all of their spells cast will consume more mana. The amount of mana zapped from the target will increase with the skill's level.

I can't help but smile reading these. This is amazing! The Truth Curse is exactly what I need. Now I don't need to go ask Liz to make me a Pact. I think before returning to my Domain. When I get inside I find Ramia looking out the window. She doesn't seem to have noticed me yet. I get the idea to sneak up and scare her but quickly decide otherwise. I cough to clear my throat and she turns around.

"E-Eric, when did you g-get here?" She asks, a little startled.

"Just now, where are the others?" I ask and she points to the door next to her.

"Myla and Hino c-came to get you. But since y-you were out, Luna and Innu w-wanted to spar with them." She says and I walk over. I look outside and see Innu swinging her new sword at Myla. Myla's holding her shield up to block and Hino stands behind her. Water is floating around her and Luna is running to them from their side. I smile and turn back to Ramia.

"This was your first time meeting them right? did you guys get along?" I ask and she nods.

"They were nice." She answers with a small smile. "Oh, Eric!" She says loudly and excitedly, startling me. "Could I have some of your blood?" She asks.

"Why?" I ask her confused.

"The results for the Devil Blood are taking longer than I thought. But I got an idea, I'd like to test the blood of your nature. I know you're only half, but I'll still be able to learn about it. W-would that be fine?" She asks excitedly.

"Sure, but only if you tell me the results." I say and she nods. She runs upstairs and shouts for me to follow. I get a very bad idea and Blink twice. I land in front of the door to the Alchemy Workshop and see Ramia running. She stops when she sees me and looks at me confused. "Slowpoke, what took you so long?" I ask sarcastically and faking some annoyance. She smiles and I open the door for her. We go in and she grabs a small machine. It's about the size of my phone but a few inches thick. It has three tubes sticking out the side and a small tube on the other. She takes a needle and wipes it off with a damp cloth she got while I was looking at the machine.

"Let me see your arm. I'll put this needle in you and the machine will fill the vials with your blood." She says and I hold out my arm. She takes the needle and cloth from earlier. She wipes a spot a few inches above my wrist with the cloth before putting the needle in. She takes a piece of tape out and uses it to hold the needle in place. I see the tube fill with my blood and she smiles. I look at her excited expression and just smile. After two of the vials are full she pushes a button and takes the needle out of my arm.

"There's still another vial, why'd you stop?" I ask her.

"The tube here is long enough to hold enough blood to fill the vial. This way we don't waste any blood. This is because this device was designed to be used on monster corpses. But don't worry, it's perfectly safe to use on people, as long as it's properly clean. But the needles don't get reused. It was new." She says reassuringly and I nod.

"I'm going to go see what Myla and Hino wanted. I'll see you later." I say and she nods. I leave and walk downstairs. I open the door and go outside. I immediately bump into someone and almost fall back.

"Sorry." I say to Myla who fell down. I help her up and see Hino and Innu close behind.

"Did you get any good materials?" Innu asks me.

"Yeah, it was a productive trip." I say nervously and she smiles.

"So Hino, Myla, what are you two doing here?"

"Do you girlfriends need a reason to visit?" Myla asks and I chuckle.

"No, I'm just wondering if you had a reason." I say.

"We're ready for your talk with the Devil of Temptation. We wanted to set up some devices to record the conversation and the mana you two will give off. This is because when a Lyna is under stress or exhausts themselves the mana they give off can be used to find out more about them. At least for Sensors." Hino says.

"I thought that was at 5? It's only... 12:19."

"Our parents got a little... Impatient. But you don't have to go if you have plans. They just wanted to set it up and let you know to come by whenever." Myla continues.

"Yeah, I'm good now. Where is it?"

"No idea. You'll need to go to the Joint Guildhall. We're going to go try to talk with Ramia." Hino says.

"You're not coming?" I ask a little surprised.

"No, only a few people can go at once. And we do want to talk with Ramia. We tried earlier but we could tell she was nervous so we decided to stop and wait." Myla says.

"A little tip, talk to ger about Alchemy. She loves it, with a passion." I say and they nod. "Well, I'm off to visit a Devil. Have fun." I say and hear them laugh before returning to my apartment.
