Cursed Tome

After BimCorp took the world by storm, there were many who wondered how they acquired such advanced technology. Countless theories popped up, ranging from secret government funding to time travel, though the reality was far different than what anyone had in mind.

The Cursed Tome is a very powerful magical artifact with an unknown origin. Reading through it, the user will find countless spells and incantations ready to cast with the right conditions. Wish you could just create money? There's a page for that! Want to go for a classic love spell? There's a page for that too! This book contains virtually any type of spell, mundane or powerful, simple or insanely complicated... The only slight hiccup of the Cursed Tome is well, the curse.

Apparently, at some point the holder of the tome attempted a spell that backfired, cursing the book itself, twisting their intentions and warping the magic within the artifact... This much is stated on the first page, written by an unknown author. Still insanely powerful, every spell cast comes with an unintended side effect for both the user and the target, trapping a piece of their soul within its pages, twisting those changed by the magic in unexpected ways.

Many have held the book as it's been passed down through the generations, Outcasts wanting to fit in... Greedy figures attempting to grab power... Though now stored in the basement of BimCorp HQ, there are countless stories already to be told from its past.
