What's next?
Curiosity
Dimyri huffed and fidgeted around, it was night time then and after the wolfy-girl ran to her room, they more or less concluded for the night. Noticing Na'Vi's look, she predicted the confrontation and thus took advantage and snuck away in cat form. It wasn't something she wanted to see again, she was hoping those kind of conversations would have ended since then. But here they are, and still she found herself tucked away to conceal the bad voices once more.
She bounced on the bed Janette left for her to sleep on, it felt nice but also a bit weird sleeping on something soft for once. When the rocky rough surface of cobblestone paths or the scratchy leaves left in fall become your bed for so many years, transitioning from nature to comfort was a huge change for her. Yet the feeling of dirt drew warmth to her, she had adapted to the outside world and knew where to rest and what to avoid. They had a better world before, things were in control then. As she stared into those regretful yellow eyes in the mirror, she drew a deep sigh from within. Maybe Na'Vi was right, but hiding like this just felt like a sense of confinement for her free spirited nature.
It felt like forever running with chains bound to your limbs.
She kept staring out the window, that eerie feeling creeping around under her fur... or hair or whatever. When they are in Nekomata form, do we call it hair or fur? Like they still have paws for hands and feet as if they were mittens, as well as two tails so I suppose that bit is fur. But what about the hair on their head, would that be considered fur? What's even the difference between hair and fur?
I'm overthinking it, let's just move on.
She groaned, humming in boring suppression of her need to remain active, telling a cat to sit still was not for her and her mother knew that. Worse yet, they are on the run, why settle at a hoo-man home instead? She had so many questions, the silly book would be a bigger help if she could read. Not as if it mattered, she would rather keep running then play questions and answers anyway. Her eyes tightened in their glare at the blue night sky, the sound of crickets and frogs teasing her quarantined state. No, I will go mad if I stay put for another night, she thought to herself as she reached in and pressed on the glass to part the window open.
"Don't even think of it."
Her fur stood straight up as she froze in place, recognizing that voice at the door of her room. She sighed, her paw retreating back instead as she fell onto her back on this thing they call bed.
"But mother-""
"No buts! You stay where you are missy, I don't want to stay up all night worrying about you." Emyri said with a feeling of motherly authority in her words.
Her daughter rolled her eyes. "This bites! Can't I go out for a walk at least? I'll be in my kitty form-"
"No. That book said the hunter is already nearby, so we definitely need to stay close and hidden while we can."
"Are we staying here until he leaves? He might not, he's been following this far, I doubt he'd second guess himself and go somewhere else. Why can't we just find some money and pay him off?"
Emyri's ears dropped. "it's not that kind of hunt."
"So why is he hunting us then, are we bad? I see people hurt others more than we do, and nobody goes after them. Are we bad people, mom?"
She had no words, just a pained look on her face. "No, I do not think we are. Please, just stay here for tonight? You can sit on the roof if you want, but don't leave the house."
Dimyri muttered something but shook her head. "Thanks, I guess." She didn't hear her leave, but caught her standing still for a brief moment before walking away with the door shut. Well, I guess it's something, she thought before proceeding to change into her kitty form. Pushing softly against the glass, it opened just a bit for her to slither through. The nice cool air felt soothing on her fur. She purred to herself as she walked along the windowsill, leaping from one to the next. On her way, she caught movement through the looking glass and stopped in her tracks. It was the hoo-man and her sister, what were they speaking of?
"I don't think so, I mean it's not much to go off of but at the moment it is all we have."
KuliKuli sighed, flopping onto bed with her hair concealing her eyes. "Ish nu fair, I find a hoo-man then we become mates. We find Jay-Jay and get attacked by miss wolfy. We become friends with woof woof then cats attack. Cats are my family and now this-this boo-hoo-man is after us."
She followed up with a heavier sigh. "Feliiiiiiix, my head is giving me an owie. What do you call it when your head aches?"
"A headache."
She frowned as he scooped her head onto his lap. "May not be a pillow but well, hope it helps. Want me to help?"
"Mhmm." She nodded, closing her eyes as his super soft hands felt her temple. He had the warmest touch ever since that time he gave her a bath, she enjoyed the smooooooooth sensation that would coarse through her, it was a hidden talent of his really. All of that labor he grew up doing toughened up his hands, resulting in a young man who knows how much pressure to insert in all the right places.
"Murrrr..."
He smirked, combing his fingers into her silver colored hair, feeling each strand slide against his skin. Like the finest silk, cuter still was how several strands kept their light brown color in tone with her cat form. How did these girls change, what kind of magic functions behind this? Or is there something else behind the Nekomata, can all monster girls transform in some way?
"Master, is something wrong?"
He noticed her eyes seemed fixated on him, a look of concern on her pretty face. Smiling in return brought ease to her worries.
"It's nothing, just admiring your pattern."
"Ad-my-yer-ring?"
He nods. "It's when you like something very much that you look at it with pleasure or respect."
"Oh, so then you admire me?"
"Very much so." He patted her cheek, his thumb rubbing that little soft brown dot. "Those cute brown spots on you complete the look."
"Hmm, I don't know. None of my sisters have them, just white or brown, not in between."
"You are the middle child after all. I think it makes you look special."
She smirked, her glowing yellow eyes staring into him. "You say that because of the brown mark on my butt!"
"What if I am? I happen to like that mark." She giggled, rolling onto all fours and shaking her butt, her tails wagging up high in the process.
"Oh, that so? Well as the middle child, I so happen to have myself a prey hehe."
Felix laughed but raised his hands up. "Now I'm your prey huh? Am I given mercy?"
She acted as if she was thinking it over. "Hmmm.... nope!" With that, she pounced onto him, her prey landing onto his back with a silly cat girl straddling atop him, a thigh on each side of his ribs. "Nya~ you're mine now! Easy pickings heh, I was feeling very hungry."
"Right, because you totally didn't eat an hour ago." Felix shook his head, his hands feeling her soft thighs.
KuliKuli grinned and leaned in close until her scent overloaded his nostrils, her eyes glimmering as they stared deeply into his. "Ish not that kind of hungry, silly."
"Oh? You know you'll need to be quiet or they'll hear us."
His mate chuckled in return. "Better ears remember? They hear everything so we may as well have fun."
The Nekomata flinched back upon realizing what was going on before shaking her head.
"No, I better not." Dimyri rolled her eyes before walking away. After all, she'd rather have her privacy respected as well, even if she was the only sister who followed that rule. Or any rule, even.
