"Araseli. Get her out of here." I said.
"What about you?" Seren asked.
"I will just slow you down.e." I said. Araseli nodded and handed me one of the two blades she had on her hip. They moved quickly away. I switched hands putting the sword in my left hand knowing my shoulder was messed up. I took several deep breaths and went back out into the main hall. The room was clear of most of the guest at least where the fighting was. Several castle guards laid dead already while the Prince held a sword in each hand and was fighting four men at once though none lasted long. He was guarding the witch who was on the ground bleeding to **** as she held her neck. If she could mutter only a few words they would escape. I picked up another sword off the ground from one of the dead in my right hand but kept my distance.
"Come on. Face me like a man." He said through his helm.
"Your already dead. I am just here to make sure you can't escape this time." I shook my head. I held out the sword in my left hand blade down. "Ianuae magicae brevis" The sword vanished from my hand and appeared behind him and fell into the back of witch on the ground. She let out one last noise before her head fell and she lied there motionless.
"You bastard." She said as he ran at me.
"Oblito lux mico." I threw up my right hand sending a blinding flash of light but it didn't stop him. I nailed him under the armpit and drove it deep. He thrust one sword into my thigh making me scream out in pain and swung his other hitting me across the face sending me falling backwards over the table and I fell onto the ground. I couldn't see out one eye. I touched my face which was hard to the touch having turned to wood. Thick red sap seeping from my face onto ground. I got up and grabbed the sword from the ground and looked across the table at him. He staggered as he dropped one sword to pull the other out. Blood spilled out of the wound.
"Lets end this." He said and yelled as he charged at me.
"Agreed. Ad manus mea." I threw up my arm and he jerked a second later as the sword I had dropped onto the dark elf came flying back to me hitting him in the back. He stumbled forward towards the table still coming as he dropped one of the two swords he held. He was determined at least to kill me. "Ad manus mea." I said again and the sword came out the front of his chest. The guard hitting the back of his chest plate. He dropped the other sword and staggered taking one last step before he fell forward onto the table.
I fell back into a seat which felt pretty comfortable except for the arrow in my shoulder. I glanced around to realize I was sitting in the kings throne. Fuck it I thought and grabbed a goblet off the table and took a drank of wine that was way better then the stuff we had been served. I raised the goblet to my dead enemy and drank it all and slumped back into the chair letting the goblet fall as I slowly closed my eyes.
My eyes opened as I looked at a roof I had never seen before. Only one of my eyes would open. I touched my other to feel a bandage on my face. I went to move my other arm as I felt something on it. I glanced over and saw Rose who was asleep next to me though she was dressed. I slowly pulled away and felt a pain in my shoulder were the crossbow bolt went through. It was bandages as well as was my leg though I was a little more curious at the second were my clothes were. One of the double doors opened and in walked a Princess Harmony and Ava.
"Good your Awake. How do you feel?" Ava smiled as she came over.
"Better then the other guy. He is dead right?" I said. I would be pissed if he wasn't.
"Pretty sure of it. Cause of **** was heavy metal poisoning." Harmony mused.
"Rose hasn't left your side since you have been here." Ava nodded. "This is the first real sleep she has gotten.
"Where is here?" I looked around.
"Your still in the castle." Harmony said as she touched my wrist for some strange reason.
"How long have I been here?"
"Three months." Harmony shrugged.
"What?"
"She is kidding. Three days." Ava shook her head. She had me worried for a second there.
"Your body went into a sort of hibernation while your magic tried to heal you." Harmony said. "I had to wait for you body to revert back to flesh before I could close the last of the wounds up yesterday. It was quit remarkable really. Me and Ava had just come for your last bit of healing."
"The poison?"
"Your friend here was quick to check the princes body. He kept a vial of the antidote for the poison encase he cut himself I guess." Harmony looked at Rose.
"You take his leg." Harmony said pulling back the cover.
"Hey." I said as I stopped her from showing off my junk.
"Like I haven't took a look already." Harmony smiled slyly. She put her hand on my chest and face and began to chant in elvish. Ava cast a healing spell on my leg. "Now lets see if we managed to save the eyeball." She said pulling off the bandage. I blinked looking around. Thankfully I could see. "Good no permanent damage done."
"How bad?"
"Not to bad."
"Makes you look a little more badass." Ava grinned and handed me a small mirror. A scar ran across my forehead at an angle to my brow and over my cheek. Some how it had missed my eye but it came pretty close.
"Your alive, guess I lost the bet." A voice said and I looked up to see Willow.
"Of course he is alive. He had me looking after him." Harmony gave Willow a look.
"Which is why I had bet he probably wouldn't make it." Willow teased. It hurt a little to laugh. Willow smiled and came in and clasped my arm.
"How did we make out?"
"The king and Queen are alive and safe thanks to you and Rose. Seren and Cassandra made it to safety while you occupied the prince. I was just pissed you killed the asshole and the bitch before I got back. I had to escort mom and sis here to safety first." Willow frowned.
"Lucky your girl Rose saw through the spell before they could make their move or things might have gone differently." Harmony smiled.
"Were their any others?"
"No, but we are still looking for the serving wench who threw the knife. She just vanished in the chaos." Willow shrugged. "You would think she would want a thank you." I was glad to hear Raven had got out. Part of me hoped to never see her again knowing it would mean trouble but my luck wasn't that good.
"Um." Rose began to stir. I looked over and smiled.
"Morning beautiful." I said touching her face. She sat up and kissed me deeply.
"We will leave you two to catch up." Harmony said.
"How do you feel?" Rose said looking at me as she touched my face.
"Pretty good actually." I nodded.
"You had me worried, all of us." Rose shook her head.
"I am a little worst for wear but still kicking." I touched her cheek.
"This time." Rose gave me a look.
"You had no trouble placing yourself in danger. She could have killed you."
"Guess were both hard headed." She smirked.
"How are the others?" I said changing the subject.
"Worried about you but fine. Felicia and Aurora have been taking turns watching Ivy and the queen keeps checking in on them to give them updates." Rose shrugged.
"Still no tree?"
"No. Not yet but soon." She shrugged. I sat up and hugged her tightly.
"Now the important question." I smiled. "Were are my clothes?" She laughed at me and got up walking over to a chest of drawers.
