Copy: Occupation

Ash decided that she wanted to try out another one of the buttons in the "Copy-Category". Looking at the many different-colored buttons encompassed by the category, she only knew what the blue one did and otherwise had no indication as to their functions. In the end, she simply went with the purple button and awaited the change.

As soon as she had pressed the button, she immediately noticed the sensation of the clothes covering her body had changed. Inspecting herself, she could clearly see that she was now wearing the exact same outfit as Nurse Joy did, fitting her body perfectly. She wondered for a moment whether she had simply copied Nurse Joy's outfit, but she noticed that her hair was still in the same style as Iris'. Pulling the bottom of her voluminous ponytail into her vision, she confirmed that her hair was still held together by the same bangles that were part of her sister's outfit, only now having taken on the same pink color as your new nurse dress. Any confusion about the exact nature of the change was about to be cleared up, however, as Nurse Joy looked up from the files and noticed Ash standing at the lobby entrance.

"Ah, Ashley, you're just in time," Nurse Joy called out from the desk with a smile. "I just finished sorting the files for our recent patients, so you don't have to deal with that during the night shift."

Holding the remote out of view, Ash walked over to the main desk. Thinking over what Nurse Joy just said, Ash realized that she had copied her occupation onto herself, making her too a nurse of the Pokémon-Center. "Oh, thank you, Nurse Joy. I appreciate it," she replied.

"I know you're still new to the job, but you really don't need to call me Nurse Joy," she told her. "We're colleagues, so Joy is completely fine."

"Oh, right, I'm sorry. I guess I still have to get used to it," Ash replied, trying not to seem out-of-character in this new reality.

"No need to worry about it," Nurse Joy said. "Anyway, did you have fun spending time with your sister before your shift? I'm really happy for you that she could stop by on her journey, even if your schedule doesn't leave too much time for you to spend with her."

"Yeah, I really enjoyed my time with her." Ash told her fellow nurse. "I just hope I get to see her again before she heads off towards Pallet Town."

"I'm sure you will," Nurse Joy assured her. "Even if she doesn't return her room key until the end of your shift, you can just head to bed a little later tomorrow and still get enough sleep before your next night shift."

"You're probably right about that," she nodded relieved. As Nurse Joy mentioned her sleeping during the day, Ash also noticed that she did in fact feel a lot less tired than she did before becoming a nurse. Apparently, in this reality, she had slept until just before her sister had arrived.

"In any case, I should probably head to bed myself now," Nurse Joy said as she walked around the desk. "Good night, Ashley! I wish you a calm and quiet night shift." Giving her one last smile, Nurse Joy slowly made her way towards the employee rooms, leaving Ash in the lobby.

Now alone and in charge of the entire Pokémon-Center for the night, Ash had absolutely no idea what she was supposed to do. Still, she decided to remain a nurse for at least the rest of her shift. Walking behind the main desk, she looked around to see if she could find anything she might be supposed to do that would not potentially have any grave consequences. And if she didn't find out what she had to do and how she was supposed to do it, she could always rejoin her sister's journey the next day.
