More stuff...
Control Hierarchy
You look at the other tabs, trying to decide what to do now that you decided that you didn't want to click on the profiles of the two other women. One comes across to you as a way to get to know the lay of the land, without prying into the exact details of their lives. Control Hierarchy can tell you a few more things at least.
Clicking the tab opens another pop-up.
- Control Hierarchy shows the current dominance scores of the household. Please be aware that there are two settings. The default setting orders it by the dominance scores of the user and his subjects. These scores can be found in Your Subjects. The alternative setting orders it based on perceived dominance. Sometimes, in the course of play, somebody may be humiliated in a way that lowers points, but that does not effect their control of the house. Alternatively, sometimes dynamics change in the house that don't award points. These viewpoints are thus useful to see both where you can get points and who is the biggest threat to your control. States in which the two are unaligned may be harmful to the user, as it indicates a fluidity in the power dynamics of the household that might turn against them. However, a slight misalignment is relatively common. But suffice to say, let's fuck some bitches!
I click off of that pop-up. Sometimes you have to wonder who made this app. The wild shifts in tone, between prosaic programming talk followed by some brain dead aside. Well whatever, default gives me numbers, alternative gives me the state of play. And no stuff that reveals people are into tentacle porn. Perfect. -
- Erica: 385
- Sephora: 244 (-2)
- Rebecca:189
- Olivia: 58
- Rex: -48 (+2)
Alright, so now you know Sephora and Rebecca's dominance scores. Sephora has more than Rebecca, but part of you wonders if that is natural or if it's solely because she's stood up for you. It is after all, only about 50 points separating them... Actually, there's another interesting parallel, between Erica and Olivia, they had about 400 points and between Sephora and Rebecca there were about 400. So that explains the relative balance you find yourself at, always humiliated but never kicked out, as Sephora didn't want to kick you out, but did try to hear out the other faction's problems.
You decide to look at the other view of the perceived dominance scores. It is basically as you expected.
- Sephora
- Erica
- Rebecca
- Olivia
- Rex
Sephora rules the house as arbiter of petty bullshit, while Erica outranks Rebecca, but both you and Olivia are at the bottom, mostly reliant on the movements of those above.
Actually... that might be a good way of thinking of it. If you take points from Erica and put them toward Rebecca, then you can break the maelstrom of shit that Erica keeps throwing at you, while also not having to work your way to the very top. That's not to say you'd avoid taking control, but it might be better to shift the system instead of breaking it, at least until the dominos fall somewhat. It'd be hard to go from a pawn to a queen with the board full of enemies. But if you could change a rook to a queen, it'd be much easier... Ok, maybe chess wasn't the best metaphor.
Or you could just get Sephora on your side, but how? And even if you did, what's to say that some other issue might come up. It was hard to see Rebecca betraying you or something like that, but if you hung out with Sephora enough that she actually sides with you, then Rebecca might become the swing vote, leaving you better but not completely clear of the bullshit. For that, you need to lower Erica to where her complaints don't matter.
If anything, this screen seems better, why isn't it the default? Well, the default screen is all about points, and the next tab is the store.
