How could I not release her? What kind of person would I become if I continued on this path?

Sandra looked instantly different. Relieved. She moved towards her and was about to introduce myself, but she didn't give me the chance. Taking a fearful glance my way, she turned and took off down the sidewalk at a brisk pace.

Oh well, I suppose that was understandable, even if it was disappointing.

Over the next few minutes I one by one released each of the members of my erstwhile harem, most of whom I had never even had the chance to meet. I smiled as I imagined their inexplicable feeling of freedom and relief. I cringed to think what Angela was thinking or feeling now that my commands had been removed. But this was the right thing to do, no doubt.

Except...

A few weeks later, when things started getting weird around town. I don't know why I hadn't thought about the phrase “she will become available to other users of the UDA.” I saw Angela being **** to make out with a guy in the park. She had tears in her eyes but didn't seem able to resist or call out for help. She had been captured by someone else. Sandra, too, got claimed. I saw her in the same coffee shop a few weeks after I released her. She was dressed in a demeaning and slutty manner. A few minutes later, she followed another guy out of the shop, her void expression revealing the true state of her relationship to this man – ****. Why hadn't I considered this possibility? Why had I “freed” them, only to send them into a different set of chains.

I pulled up the app, hoping to maybe catch a few women and protect them from the worst of it. I might not be the best guy around, but I had enough of a conscience to treat these women with care, didn't I?

But it was to no avail. The app opened only to tell me its services were no longer available to me once I had “emptied” my harem. There was nothing more I could do.
