Chapter 30 by reaper13 reaper13

What do I do?

Continue studying

I continue back home and return to studying from the book I stole. The next day, when everybody was at the tribunal, I was at home studying. The day after, I spent the whole day in my room as well, studying from the stolen book. The day after that one I learned Kase has left for the capital the previous day. Well, at least I no longer have to worry about running into him in the village, or in the mansion. And he also never figured out about me stealing a book from his room. I guess he must have never cared about those books to begin with.

By this time, I have finished it. Writing down all the important stuff took quite a bit more time than I thought. But it certainly helped me improve a lot. I now also have a summarized version of it all for myself. I guess this is something I can keep now. But not the book. That one, I have to return to Mr. Enzo.

I took my backpack and placed the book at the bottom. Then I filled it up with some sandwiches and a water bottle and I left for Mr. Enzo’s mansion. I told the maids that I have some free time now and that I would like take up Mr. Enzo’s offer to study from the books in his library again. The maids ask about the backpack and I tell them it is just some food I brought with me for when I get hungry.

“Miss Amelia. There is no need for that. You are our guest. If you get hungry all you have to do is make a request and we will provide you with some food.” One of the maids replies.

“I know. But I already feel so indebted to Mr. Enzo. I would feel guilty if I also have him spend money on food for me.” I try to excuse myself. Fortunately, the maids bought it.

They bring me all the way to the library. Once there I find a few interesting books and bring them to a table. I look around and see nobody around. That is when I pull the stolen book out of my backpack and place it amongst the ones I took from the shelves. After that I start studying.

At the end of the day, I have finished all my sandwiches and my water. I return the books to their shelves, including the one I stole a few days ago. There, Mr. Enzo now has his book back. When I leave, the maids check my bag. I take it a few of them wanted to make certain i didn't take any books with me. But it is fine. I didn't steal any book this time.

That means I will now be able to go to Riledo with a clean conscience. Which reminds me, it is almost time.

Time to become an adventurer
