Continue on your own

You don't like the look of the book. It seems like a trap. To your left is a dead end hallway with a few rooms to explore, but you feel like searching them will only lead to your doom. You decide to head right, and try to find the Maiden's hall on your own. Once you find the vent, you can find the way on the other floors.

It's only been about 10 minutes, but it feels like it's been 10 hours. Every room you look at seems the same. You feel like you've gone down this hallway three times already. You can't even find your way back to the room with the book. You start getting more careless. You start checking inside rooms for any signs, marking off ones you've visited by cutting a notch by the door.

You check room after room. Then, you get to a room located at the end of a hallway. You open it, and a female voice comes from inside.

"Oh?" It calls. "Is someone there? Korra, is that you? Or is it a... Visitor?" The voice giggles. Chills run down your spine. You book it, not even bothering to check who or what the experiment is. Silence is not of the essence right now. You run as fast as your legs will take, you knocking over plant pots and furniture along the way. Then, the worst thing possible happens. You're cornered in a dead end hallway. There's an open door to your left, but the room looks shady as fuck. The light is on, and the floor and furniture are sticky. However, you hear your pursuer close behind you. The sound of bare feet draws nearer and nearer. You could try to slip past her, or try to negotiate, but you don't fancy your chances.
