Continue down the road

"Good bye Miss Centaur!" the kids yelled as they were getting yanked away by their mother.
Celia still could not quite grasp the environment she was in. She was in a deep ancient forest. Through which led a hardened road. Which no-one seemed to use. Except a mother with children going out for a walk. Apparently not in a slightest scarred of the monsters that must be lurking in the forest.

Nothing here made sense.

Shaking her head she continued walking down the road only to meet more people who just seemed to be wandering around. Some of them were running somewhere in clothes that clung to their bodies, which looked even stranger then the clothes people who walked were wearing. Was that some kind of courier uniform? But those clothes - besides clinging to their bodies - did not seem to share anything in common.

For what it was worth all those people seemed very friendly, most of them greeted her as they were passing, some commenting on the weather being good for a ride or a walk.

Deep in the thoughts centaur did not notice that she reached another crossing and almost fell down as she stumbled stepping on a new strange surface raised about a foot above the gravel hardened road she was following so far. She took few small steps with her front hooves to double check it. It was strange and dark. Surface was hard when stepped on but seemed slightly pliable. With a slight hesitation she stepped on it. Looking around the black road was even wider then the one she just followed, wide more then two lengths of her in each direction.

She saw even more people in the distance following this road in both directions, but strangely still no carriages. She also couldn't spot anyone but humans, she at least expected to see some centaurs by now. No non-humans either. Wait didn't the god say centaurs are not common here?

Still. Strange.
