I cleared my throat, trying not to look up from the sheet of paper as I set it down and carefully folded it. I'd known I was probably going to get turned on, reading the consent letters, and had been prepared for most things. I had not been prepared for Elyse's detailed admission.

Since I'm the person with the most, ah, 'control' in the situation, did anyone have any questions for me about what I gave you?"

"Nope," Rhia said. Tori shook her head. Elyse blushed just a little more, turning a cute pink colour, and swallowed.

"Then I think, before we jump back into the game, I want to do this." I stood up and went around the side of the table to Elyse, offering my hand. She took it and looked up at me like she thought I was going to act on what she'd written immediately, and was both terrified and delighted. Maybe a little more towards terrified. Instead, I pulled her to her feet and wrapped her up in a bear hug, and she quickly hugged me back.

"Thank you for trusting me," I said quietly.

"I can't believe I wrote all that," she mumbled into my chest.

I pulled her back by her shoulders lightly and cupped her face in my hands, wiping her cheeks with my thumbs. "Thank you," I said again. Then I kissed her on the forehead. She crashed into me for another hug, then let me go.

Tori was next and she stood up as I circled around to her, slipping into my arms easily. Her note had maybe been the most surprising, or ****, even if it hadn't been the most graphic. Elyse had told me about her wants, but Tori had admitted to a major vulnerability she had. I held her softly, rather than the crushing hug I'd given her roommate. "Thank you for trusting me, Tori," I said.

"Thank you for being trustworthy," she replied before letting me go and smiling softly.

Rhia was last, and she was still blushing. "I guess maybe I could have written more," she said as I took her into my arms. I cradled her head to my chest, silently saying goodbye to the kid I'd known and hello to the woman before me. Kissing was one thing. Even nudity. Blurry lines compared to the one we were approaching. I shifted, hugging her more fully as I accepted that, and she tightened her grip on me.

"It was all that you needed to say," I said. "Thanks for trusting me, Rhiannon."

"Love you, Shane," she replied.

"Alright," I said as we parted and I headed back to my chair, settling in. I let out a long breath, then tidied up the letters they'd given me and carefully put them into a pocket of my DM binder for the game. Depending on how things went, those letters might be important artefacts for me in the future. "Where did we leave off?"

"We were heading back from the hot springs," Rhia said, using Olivia's voice. "Back into a camp sprawling with bandits, murderers and thieves."

"And being run by a guy who is definitely a werewolf or something," Tori said as Jade.

"And has some god-hating magicians who already don't like us," Elyse tacked on as Renee.

"Well then," I said. "I guess you three heroines have a lot to do."
