Congo

*Mackenzie hesitated, remembering the tales of Congo's temper. She had been told to be cautious around him, to keep her distance. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw a glimmer of intelligence and curiosity that drew her in. Slowly, Mackenzie approached Congo, a banana held out in front of her. He sniffed at it, then gently took it from her hand. Sarah felt a rush of adrenaline as his strong fingers brushed against hers. Congo seemed pleased with the banana. He ate it quickly, then looked up at Sarah expectantly. She reached into her basket and pulled out another banana. And another. And another.

The more bananas she gave him, the happier Congo seemed to become. He began to make contented noises, beating his chest gently. Sarah found herself laughing, caught up in the joy of connecting with this magnificent creature. But soon, her basket was empty.

"Oh no!" Mackenzie exclaimed, "We're out of fruit! Looks like that's it for breakfast."

Congo didn't seem to get the hint. He reached out his hand, expecting another fruit to be handed to him.

"No, Congo. I have no more fruit for you. I'll come back for more when it's lunchtime,"

Congo didn't seem to understand and began to look visibly frustrated. The hand that was reaching for the fruit was starting to wave viciously for more. Congo began to grumble and growl, demanding more fruit from Mackenzie. This made Mackenzie a little nervous. She was scared of what Congo might do if she stayed longer.

"I'm sorry, Congo. I'll get you some more during lunch," Mackenzie assured.

She turned and began to walk towards the exit. But she only took a few steps before she felt a large hand grip her ankle, and she began to fall forward on her stomach. Before she could even react in shock, she suddenly felt her whole body slide against the rough floor. She looked behind and saw that Congo was dragging her around, obviously upset that he didn't get any more of his breakfast!
