Chapter 6 by JackKinnoph JackKinnoph

What should she do?

Confront Her

No point in fiddling about. She popped out from the rock, and trained her revolver on the lioness, just as she turned around.

“Sheesh, sheriff. Again with this?” She rolled her eyes and lifted her hands. “What, are you trying to frame little ol’ me for a crime? This is no way to treat a law abiding citizen.”

“That remains to be seen. What are you doing here? It ain’t like you can trainspot all the way down here. You wanna see it, why not visit it at the station?” She retorted. “Now come on outta there.”

Though, while she watched Marian, something caught her eye. There were a few bright lights on the piers of the train bridge. Squinting, she realized, to her horror, that they were bundles of dynamite, fuses lit and burning down.

“I knew I had ya figured for an outlaw!” Tex yelled. “By my authority as sheriff of Gold Springs, I place you, Marian Ames, under arrest!”

The fat lioness merely chuckled. “Alright. Arrest me then. Though, surely the safety of this train comes first, right? You put me in cuffs, and those go boom. Then we’ll have a little trainwreck on our hands.”

Tex hurried toward the lion and the bridge. This was going to be delicate timing, needing to defuse half a dozen explosives, while also apprehending the one who put them there. The train roared overhead, crossing the canyon, none the wiser that a terrible tumble might be inevitable. Stakes were high.

What would Tex do?
