Confounding Expectations !

Daisy was completely thrown when she actually met with Debbi to discuss and run through the stand up routine that she and Eddie had written. She held the entire WAG celebrity culture in contempt, with its' Instagram influencers and gaudy superficiality. So she had written a savage satire which at times barely concealed that contempt. But in meeting the real Debbi, she discovered someone who confounded all her expectations and who totally belied that stereotype. Debbi, for her part, found the script hilarious. Debbi had filled Daisy in on the serendipitous journey she had taken to her current situation, which was one she now regarded with wry amusement.

During the read through, Debbi demonstrated the natural timing which Eddie had assured Daisy she possessed but which his writing partner had been sceptical about. Daisy was apologetic. "I am so sorry. I've written you as an absolute air head" she said when they finished. "No, no. That's fine. It's just a character isn't it ? I mean, if anyone's stupid enough to think that's how I really am, then that's their problem. Not that I'm saying you're stupid for thinking that's how I was" Debbi backtracked quickly and the pair laughed at their mutual misunderstanding !

"You don't mind the finale ?" Daisy was now concerned. "Not at all. It's a hoot and I'm used to getting my kit off by now !"

"We'll have all the usual stipulations that there's to be no recording or photography. And we'll ask the audience not to divulge the ending so as not to spoil the surprise for later shows !"
