Chapter 116 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

Emyri kept herself at bay, her tail rubbing her chin and her paws nervously tapping at her thighs. She was sat down, legs crossed, thinking heavily what they should do next, but what came to mind were a list of regrets and doubts instead. Keeping a strong head was getting increasingly difficult, she worried that perhaps she had made the wrong call. A heavy feeling was creeping along her fur, she feared that maybe she had confirmed their fates in this.

"Sweety... Mommy needs to-" She turned around, noticing Syri with a paw to her chest. Alarmed she crawled up to her and held her shoulders, troubled to the state of her kin. "Baby, what's wrong? Are you scared?"

Syri shook her head, swallowing her breath and feeling her emotions begin to spike. "Nu... I feel wrong. Something feels awful."

"Hey, we'll get out of this okay? I made sure to keep my girls safe and I am sticking to that promise."

"No. No-no, it's not... I don't know." She gulped, feeling sweat begin to roll down her temple and drip to her chin. The night may have been cold, but all she could feel then was uncomfortable heat, not the kind that involves mating.

Emyri shuffled over to face her, analyzing her state of loss and confusion. Something struck her mind, a familiarity before it formed into an unsettling feeling in her chest. "Oh, oh dear. Y-You marked her, didn't you?"

Syri looked up at her in confusion as her mother reached in and hugged her close, patting her back. "W-what does that mean, am I supposed to feel weird inside? Is this my period again?"

"No, don't worry dear. Just try to keep your mind away from it, I'll... eh." She stuttered and stifled in her wording, her mind feeling muddled in contrasting thoughts. "Really though, her?"

"Mom!"

Emyri shook her head and held her tight. "You're right, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude, I should know better. A mother should always know better. I'm happy for you but... this complicates things."

"Mom, you're still being rude. And mean."

"I'm sorry baby, I don't mean it in that way. Trust me, mommy is happy inside, just surprised. We're in an odd spot here, not you and her. I mean all of us." She breathed, her jaw trembling lightly. "Mommy needs to go see your sister and be sure she is safe, okay?"

Syri shook her head fast. "No! I want to go too."

"Don't argue with me right now. Please, please just trust me on this."

"No, mommy why can't I go?"

"I don't want you to be in danger-"

"Well neither do I!"

"Hey!" KuliKuli shouted, grabbing their attention as she crawled up the roof to meet them. "No fighting, that's wolfy's job not yours."

Syri pointed her paw at Emyri. "She wants to go see Dimyri without us!"

Her eyes grew wide. "You know where she is?"

Felix raised his head up in surprise, now in view after climbing his way clumsily following behind.

"What-no. No I don't-"

"I do." Na'Vi huffed, paws to her hips.

KuliKuli frowned. "Where were you, and how did you find us?"

"Hey." Felix reached for Na'Vi, tugging at her arm. She glared at him. "Who are they?"

"What, those meanies?" her voice trembled, both of them peaking off the roof to see the soldiers on the ground. "Those guys are who we are running away from. Or were, I don't know anymore."

"Did they find us?" He asked. She shrugged. "We can't just sit down and wait-"

"Got any better ideas, human?"

KuliKuli flexed her paw, trying to keep her emotions in check. Felix didn't waver, ignoring her rude tone and trying to keep a light head. "I dunno, but doing nothing isn't going to help. I'm going down to check."

"What?" Both Emyri and Syri shouted, with KuliKuli rushing towards him.

"Nuu, you'll be in danger."

He smiled, admiring the way the wind blew her silver hair across those bright beautiful worried yellow eyes of hers. "I told you i'm not sitting back anymore. They're looking for cat girls, I'm not a cat as far as I know."

"No but... " Her voice trailed off, dragging her paw down his chest. "What if you get hurt?"

He held her paw, his thumb rubbing her soft fur. "I can manage myself, don't worry about me. Worry about your family okay? I'll be back before you know it." He said, leaning in for a quick kiss before hurrying back through the open window.

KuliKuli sighed, watching him disappear with Syri, Emyri and Na'Vi standing behind her.

"But, you're my family too." She whispered, her lip quivering as she let her paw fall back to her side. Na'Vi sighed, looking up at Emyri who nodded, before walking up behind KuliKuli and hugging her arm.

"C'mon, we need to come up with something in the meantime."

She nodded, turning around to her mother and sister, taking in a deep breath before looking up again. Na'Vi saw the transition and smiled, it was subtle but it showed briefly.

There's the Nityri I remember.
