Chapter 416 by The Other Guy The Other Guy

How does the Maiden party go?

Compared to Ana's it's sophicated

Lady Demise came to collect all of you, finding everyone either laughing, embarrassed or feigning ignorance at why everyone was laughing. She ushered you all out of the study and towards the ball room rear entrance. You could hear the dull roar of conversations through the door and as it opened the first thing that hit you was the tang of **** in the air. Lady Demise walked through and began announcing your arrivals, instantly silencing the crowd.

Mary entered first followed by Anastasia and Lashay, then Isabelle and Delilah. Each introduced to a polite applause. Ana's was notable louder, probably becasue she'd been the one to invite all the nobles here.

With you and Green alone she took the chance to whisper into your ear. "You know if you made the whole marriage to Mary thing official you could've walked in with her."

You looked at her and sighed. "You're mother's better at that." Her shrugged.

"Yes but unlike her, I want you and Mary to get married becasue you are an excellent match for her in several way," a hand innocently strayed to rub some fingers against your hip, "not solely becasue Aurora wants it happen."

Lady Demise announced you stopping you from responding to that, not that you had much of a response to give. Walking into the ball room there is less applause and more hushed whispers. As you sit on Mary's right at the table overlooking everyone her hand slips down to rest on your thigh. On Mary's left was Aurora's seat, a larger one with more plush looking fabric. Ana would on Aurora's right with Lashay next to her. Isabelle and Delilah were on the other side of Lashay.

Green is not announced and you see her walking along the outer edge of the ball room then sitting down among several noble women who have to do a double take from Green to Mary.

You take the chance to look around the ballroom. Unlike Ana's version the nobles aren't awaiting in a semi-circle but are sitting at tables with food and drink already prepared for them, and already partaken in. The vast majourity of the people present are women and almost all are in toga very similar to Ana's representing what you guess are their family colours. Comparing it again to Ana's party there is a lot less exposed skin, some togas leave a breast exposed but largely everyone could be considered appropriate. You can't even see any lust in auras, there is excitement, a bit of wonder and a healthy dose of worry about the upcoming events. Maybe Ana's had been the exception and this level of formality is normal. Honestly wouldn't shock you to learn that Ana's party was in fact an excuse to be pervy.

Conversation started to build up a little as no other introduction were made. You start chatting to Mary, not having anything else to do. She directed the conversation toward some of the people here. She didn't know many of them and you got the impression she was trying to remember who was who.

As the din of the room died down you looked towards the entrance presuming this was Aurora's introduction. You were correct as Lady Demise approached the door and loudly announce as everyone stood up. "Queen Aurora ..." She proceeded to list her titles but you tuned them out. You'd never heard anyone ever refer to her as anything other than Queen, Aurora or combination there of.

The door opened and Aurora walked into the room. She was wearing a toga of the same colour you had apparently picked out. A purple with some gold trim, a clasp on her shoulder the exception to the normal get up, brightly shining gold with a ruby a sapphire and a diamond in a three pointed star encrusted on each corner. As she walked her toga would ride up her leg, exposing soft white skin. A slight bounce to her step made her chest move under her toga, not much but the jiggling was hard to not pay attention to.

Everyone bowed to her and she walked through the room. Music sprung up as she did. A light string piece that was played softly enough to be heard but not to interrupt any speaking.

Aurora came to a stop before the raised part of the ball room where you were seated. She turned and for a moment thought her eyes caught you staring at her chest. Lady Demise's teasing about putting Aurora's bed to use wormed its way back into your mind, Mary's hand on your thigh didn't help.

"Ladies I welcome you to my hall." Aurora announced, her voice rumbling through the wood as if the ball room itself was reverberating with her voice. A nifty magical trick to impress people and make clear the claim she had to this palace.

"And we are honoured to attend." The nobles responded. It was remarkably uniform and you a shift in the air. Looking at auras you saw a change in them as well. Their emotions suppressed to all project two images, above their head you recognised the Royal crest, though not everyone was able to perfect the colours of the flower and some were struggling to get the shape right. Before their hearts was, what you assumed, their family crest. You remember looking over a lot of crests before you'd given up trying to learn about the nobility. Again there were a lot of variation in quality. Notably those who couldn't do much with their aura where putting their all into the royal crest leaving only family colours above their heart.

"Tonight I reward you with the fruit of my kingdom." Aurora declared. Her ritual talking was different from what Ana's had been. Difference between a Queen and not a queen.

"And we are honoured to partake." As the people spoke Aurora began to rise. her magic making a bubble below her feet to push her off. You felt the auras in the room open up, start to merge into each other as the uniformity of the ritual beginning did it's work. It hadn't happened at Ana's so you pay close attention to Aurora waiting to see if she'd absorb any auras, a part of the ritual Ana hadn't known.

"You see above you, the proof of your loyalty." Aurora looked around the room as she floated higher. You did you best to not let your eyes dally in following her head as it rose less they get a glimpse of what is rapidly approaching eye line.

The nobles looked up at the royal crest they'd made. "And our loyalty is proven." With the aura's merging those images got a bit sharper as the collective knowledge spread out.

"Tonight your loyalty is rewarded." Aurora's hair started to glow, it's deep red radiating out is soft waves, the waved rippling through her toga causing it to flutter. She'd raised high enough that the toga over her thighs would not do much to prevent you from seeing what else she might be wearing.

The royal crest above everyone faded slightly as their family crests grew sharper. "And we are honoured for your reward."

Aurora spin in the air to face her seat at the head of the table you were sitting at. The movement and the red radiating from her hair rippling her toga were timed perfectly, the fluttering of her hem lifting pulled your eyes down to movement. You didn't see much of anything with her legs not parted that widely but when your eyes darted back up they hers.

Aurora sunk to the ground behind her table. "Let us eat, drink and prepare for the games." She put a hand on the top of Mary's chair. "Princess Mary has a reward the most lauded talent." You saw Green move away from the nobles she'd been sitting with to come to a stand beside her mother.

Mary's hand on your thigh squeezed softly as she stood. "Three members of my personal guard are retiring, they will be permitted to join the house of whom ever win." There was a slight pause and Green clapped her hands, the noise didn't come from her however, it came from the nobles she'd been sitting with. The other nobles clapped along and soon there was appluase aplenty.

Mary sat and Aurora walked to put her hand on Ana's chair. "Princess Anastasia has most graciously allowed her fiancée to join in the games, I am sure you will be respectful in whom you chose to test yourselves with." There was a lot of quiet chatter at that and you saw a bit of fear in Lashay's aura.

Don't do it, don't do it, don't it. You really don't want to be involved in that part of the night, no matter how scared Lashay is you're involvement isn't going to do anything to assuage those fears. He'd be playing without your involvement anyway so there is no reason to offer to play just becasue you think it would make the shy guy you are feeling increasingly bad for feel a bit more secure.

Offer to join in the game to try and soothe Lashay's nerves?
