One of the first things we checked was that the Tower of Pisa was indeed leaning in the 14th century and the whole square provided a beautiful backdrop to the episode. We also used a calligrapher to draw beautiful calendars to add to the authenticity. I can confirm the young artist was very good with her hands.

This was really an episode for the art department with extravagant dresses, designed to show off their wearer, at the feast, striking pirate costumes and of course the famous wooden dildo, although we could not actually use that moniker as the word did not exist until Shakespearean times. It was a shame that the many pretty local girls could not parade in their underwear at our beauty contest but we did the best we could with plenty of cleavage on view.
