Cold Case: The Children Of Whitechapel

———————————————————————Case Overview

3 weeks ago Samual Gallows went missing after a day out playing, no witnesses have been discovered and since then an additional 6 children have gone missing, some taking from their own home with no signs of forced entry or signs of a struggle save for one example.

Richard Callahan on the night his children went missing, was found dead in his bed, the cause of death appearing to be strangulation, his wife Sarah who had slept just next to him, appeared unharmed and undisturbed by the unknown attacker.

The lead investigator during initial inquiry is Simon Goodwin, during investigation it was concluded that the parents were not suspect for either the disappearances or the murder of Richard Callahan.

The case was archived due to a lack of workable leads and more pressing concerns.

7 missing children… all concentrated in the Whitechapel area with the earliest of them being 3 weeks ago, the latest having gone missing a mere 4 days ago how could this be considered a cold case? Why is this not being investigated right now?

Bed Sheet Rope; recovered from the second floor bedroom window of Laura Benson.

Missing clothes; found to have been taken from the rooms of the Kingston girls Melinda Kelso and Samual Gallows a short while after their disappearance.

Missing toys; found to have been taken from the rooms of every missing child a short time after the disappearances.

Children’s Drawings; Shortly before the disappearances took place, the Callahan twins had drawn several pictures of what appears to be an adult woman wearing a metal dress. Poor quality makes identification impossible.

The evidence seems promising but until Violet can see it for herself all she has to go on is descriptions and text.

Turning back to the Sargent, Violet speaks up. “I will need to speak with this Officer Simon Goodwin.. where can I find him…?”

“He’s no longer with us, I’m afraid… died in a shootout with bandits a few weeks ago, unless you can speak with the dead, you’re out of luck.” Says Pembroke however audio processors are not detecting any degree of sorrow in her voice, it appears Officer Goodwin wasn't well liked by his peers.

“I see… and could you tell me where I can find this… Fortress of yours…? I don’t have its coordinates entered in my memory bank.”

“I actually have business I need to attend to at the Fortress, I could take you there but past that you’re on your own, you wanna bring a partner to back you up?” She makes a valid point, VI-900 units aren’t programmed for combat in the wasteland, she someone or something attack, Violet will need to exhaust all means of pacification and negotiation before she can defend herself with appropriate force.

There’s a few members of the Constabulary that could bring a needed perspective to the case, however they could also prove a hinderance.

After all humans are susceptible to emotional, impulsive decision making, their irrational behavior may drag down the entire investigation should some unresolved trauma or emotional trigger come about over the course of the inquiry.
