Coil of Rope

John contemplated his options, looking over a selection of items laid out on the store counter. A coil of rope drew his attention, black as night and simultaneously soft as cotton yet with no give to it whatsoever. John couldn’t explain why he wanted the rope as he could barely tie his own shoelaces and didn’t know any knots more advanced than a square knot. Nonetheless, the more he looked at the rope the more the voice spoke to him:

“Ooooh, my old friend! It’s been far too long since we last played together ~”

John didn’t question what the voice meant or why it was speaking to him, in no small part because of the images of his girlfriend Lauren tied up in ropes that entered his mind, and with knots and patterns he had never seen before.

“The rope, please!” The shopkeeper smiled as she put the rope in the bag, happy to see that this rope and the red bunnysuit would be reunited once more.

John rushed out the door, mind even more focused on getting Lauren into the red latex bunnysuit. The sound of squealing tires marked his departure from the parking lot, turning the shopkeepers smile into cackling laughter.
