Coffee shop

Maria sits down with her coffee and hands you your cup, looking annoyed and impatient. The coffee shop is moderately crowded, although you have managed to secure a table by the wall. It's not the most convenient place to have a conversation, but the coffee shop was only 2 blocks away from the boutique Maria and Keven were going to step into before you pretended to run into them in the street.

Maria glares at you through her sunglasses as you take a long sip of your hot coffee. She speaks when you lower the cup. "How did you know who I was in the dark at the party last night? Was it my voice?"

You ignore her question, responding with your own. "Tell me, how many guys did you fuck last night? Sounds like your husband doesn't know?"

Your questions cause Maria great alarm as she raises her eyebrows in horror and leans forward and closer to you. "Keep your voice down, will you?" she says in a whisper.

You chuckle and lean in too, to get close to her face. If someone were watching you 2, they might think you 2 are a couple and about to kiss.

"Answer me," you say, keeping your voice down this time.

Maria pauses before she answers, looking around to make sure nobody is paying attention to you 2 or close enough to hear her. "No, Kev doesn't know about the party. He thinks I just had dinner and drinks with a friend. Please, you can't tell him."

"And the answer to other question?"

Maria takes a deep breath and you see her eyes staring off to the side as she tries to recall the previous night. Her lips move without saying a word, before she turns her attention back to you. "7."

"Wow. You sure got around, huh? What number was I?"

"3, I think."

"What number would I be today?"

"What?"

"How many guys have you fucked today?"

"Zero!" Maria responds in a loud whisper and somehow seems offended by the question.

"Not even your husband?"

"No."

"Were you going to fuck him before you came to see me?"

"What? No, he has to go back to Los Angeles for business later. Why are you asking all these questions? What do you want?"

You reach across the table to place your hands on Maria's. "I couldn't wait until tonight to see you."

Maria looks confused by your statement at first, until she seems to get what you mean. "You mean..? Like, now? Are you crazy? We're in here and I have to get back to Kev soon."

"Yes, now. Come on, or else I'll go find your husband and tell him about the party last night and how I was 1 of 7 guys who porked his wife," you remark with a smirk.

Maria's throat moves as she swallows hard visibly, coming to terms with her current situation. "You're blackmailing me."

"I guess I am."
