Clearing the Head

Matthew was in a an open area, surrounded by training dummies. He was swinging his sword around, practicing his movements.

Ana nervously walked up to him. She was about to say something, but couldn't find the words.

"I know you're there, Ana" he said, even though he didn't look at her.

"Do you hate me" she asked, fighting back the country accent. Matthew didn't stop moving.

"I have seen many types of evil in my life. I have seen the absolut worst that humanity has to offer. Even here, there are people I doubt I'll ever be able to forgive" he said. Ana felt her heart sink. But when Matthew turned around, he was smiling.

"But you're not one of them" he said. She looked up in shock. He walked over and put a hand on her shoulder.

"You were young and foolish back then. Your actions never caused me any real harm. You made a mistake, one that I can tell you regret. One that I can tell you've learned from. And for that, I have forgiven you" he said. Tears fell from her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him.

They two broke the hug and Matthew walked back over to the dummies.

"Do you hate any of the others?" she asked. Matthew started to swing again.

"Sarah has ruined the career of many innocent people for her own personal gain" he said as she slashed one of the dummies.

"Karen has made many people homeless for her own entertainment" he said as he de-headed another dummy.

"Song almost got the love of my life killed" he before stabbing a dummy so deep that the sword was stuck in there.

"But there's one person I hate more than the others" he said as he grabbed his sword.

"Who?" asked Ana. In one motion, Matthew grabbed his sword and threw it into the head of the final dummy.

"Violet"
