Clear Seas Ahead?
Clear Seas Ahead
The Timeleaves on the Mirror Map have since rolled over to Feastingdays. The Captain orders ham and grog (in lieu of cider) to be served for the evening meals, and the food does hearten the crew. And you. Supplies may be depleting fast, but some colour does return to their ghastly visages. They still all look alike, ghostly skeletons, shuffling over the empty deck of the dead ship. But they move faster.
And you make good time, steaming over the glass-calm waters. Day after day, the needle on the rippling silver inches closer to Barenhaven. You can already smell the smoke of distant chimney stacks on the wind. The City is close. Then a Mariner spots a ship on the horizon; dark sails approaching fast.
