Chapter 5 by Washotep Washotep

Does Ruby clean up after her friends?

Clean up, it is the right thing to do

Ruby reluctantly swipes up the junk and drink cans left in the living room. Once she brings a pile of rubbish to the kitchen, she finds Raven drinking. Her first bottle of beer is empty and she holds a second open bottle while seated at the kitchen table.

"Oh Ruby, you didn't have to!" Raven remarks sweetly. Raven honestly thought everyone just went to bed straight after the film.

"Everyone else just went to sleep after I went to the bathroom so yeah, I have to."

"All by yourself? Let me help," Raven suggests. She goes with Ruby to collect a second round of litter and unopened snacks to dump on the table. Raven puts her litter in the garbage first and sits back down at the table, taking another chug of her beer.

"Ruby, would you like a cookie?" Raven asks playfully. This time, her proposition is genuine though she is amused by how oblivious Ruby is to innuendo.

"No thanks... I have more questions about Summer," Ruby responds.

"You think about her a lot. So do I. But it's late. And I'm tired... Let's make this more interesting."

Raven places her empty beer on the table sideways. "Truth or dare. Whoever the bottle points to must tell the truth or do whatever the other says. If the bottle points to me, I will say or do whatever you want me to. Wanna play? And remember, you can't opt out."

Ruby questions "Why can't you just tell me what I want to know? Why is everything about my mom shrouded in mystery?"

Raven cuts to the chase and asks "Do you want to play or not?"

Ruby ponders about her situation. This is the first time Ruby has found someone who knows Summer that is willing to be open and honest about Summer with her.

Does Ruby play spin the bottle?
