Classic fantasy with a group.

For a moment, the view through your VR goggles goes pitch black. Then, a montage of loading scenes lasting a minute or two runs as your newly created avatar is loaded into the game. You watch the animations with building excitement, the photo-realism of the characters, buildings and flora and fauna is amazing. Sprawling fantasy medieval cities, vast wilderness areas of forests, mountains and deserts show the NPC denizens of the world interacting as the AI controlling them builds a living world. You see scenes of armies clashing in open warfare and sieges. Smaller groups of bandits and monster raiders clash with merchant caravans and villages.

Zooming down into a vast walled city, merchants and citizens buy and sell products at stalls or shops. A Tabaxi cutpurse steals a coin pouch from a rich-looking merchant and is then chased out of sight down an alley. A tavern brawl spills out into a busy street, with innocent bystanders raising the alarm and a squad of city guards rushing to the scene to restore order. In a tall, crooked tower, a magic user dressed in flowing red robes weaves their hands in the air, intoning a spell in some arcane tongue as they kneel before a summoning circle and magical energy crackles in the air as something begins to take shape in the circle of runes and geometric patterns. In an elaborately ornate temple, you watch a Drow witch slip a silk robe from her shoulders to reveal her perfect nude body before they descend the steps into a sunken bath as beautiful human and humanoid slaves with magically enscribed collars pamper their mistress. Now you see the ruins of a huge castle and a group of adventurers, deep inside the catacombs, battling animated skeletons and a sinister hooded necromancer.

The loading screens fade as your avatar finishes loading, and now you are at the edge of a wood or forest. In a valley below, there is a town surrounded by a wooden wall. You look around you for the group of online friends you had arranged to form an adventure party with, eager to surprise them with your stunning female avatar. Four figures sit around on fallen logs or the ground watching you as your avatar materialises.

"Yeah, that makes the whole party," You hear a sultry female voice complain.

"Guys, this is getting beyond ridiculous," Another voice, deeper and huskier, though still distinctly feminine, adds. "I mean the whole party, really?"

"Oh!" Your hopes of surprising your friends with a female character fade as you see four equally female characters looking back at you.
