Miss Wormwood holds the basket containing the little brown snake, saying, "She will sleep with you, she will travel on your arm, she will tell you what she needs. She will look after you and aid in your magics." Miss Wormwood smiles and makes a little sniffling noise. "And if anyone asks you about your bites, tell them Sapienta was over-eager in greeting you."

You put a hand to the bites on your neck. They throb with heat and swelling, as do the venomed bites on your nipples and navel. The other bites sting when you move or brush up against them, but the sensation quickly reminds you of the pleasure Nurse Wormwood brought you, and you feel a throbbing and moistening between your legs.

"I don't know, I..." you say.

Sapienta flickers her tongue at you. Her beady eyes look into yours.

You stammer, "I, I..."

Miss Wormwood holds the basket below your hand. The little brown snake crawls onto your hand and wraps round your forearm. You catch a glimmer in its eyes, an opening of its mind.

"I, it, she likes me!" you say.

"Then she must be yours," Miss Wormwood says. "And I'm sure she will remind you of me."

You nod. "Yes," you say.

"Just a little bite of your blood, every other day or so, water when she thirsts, and a bath when she needs it," Miss Wormwood says. "I can see you will be great friends."

"Yes," you say, looking into Sapienta's eyes. "I see that too."
