Cid decides to learn more about his new power

He wondered if he could take over anyone else with his new power as he did with Tarji. If he could manage to take over other bodies, he might be able to get something done even in his current state. The next target for him was Goetz, he needed someone to test it on. He couldn’t bother Tarji again, especially with her being their medic.

“Gav, send Goetz to my room” he called to Gav.

“Okay, I’ll tell him to head your way” Gav replied.

Cid had only to wait a few minutes before Goetz appeared, no doubt thinking Cid had some important task for him. Cid let him into his room, closing the door and making sure the man wasn’t wary of the situation. Cid remained in his wheelchair, expecting his body to collapse like last time.

“What is it Cid? You called for me out of the blue after all” Goetz asked.

“Yes, about that. I do need your help with something” Cid began.

He hadn’t thought about how to approach this situation. He couldn’t tell him outright what his plan was. But he needed to say it in a way that didn’t rouse suspicion from the man. He was glad it only took a handshake to get this done.

“Grab my hand for me first” Cid said as he held his hand up.

“Oh, of course” Goetz agreed with a smile.

The man obviously thought he was just helping Cid out of his chair, but he was far off with that idea. Cid didn’t pull, simply closing his hand around Goetz’s. He focused on taking over his body, making it his, just like when he had tried to take Clive’s power. Cid felt a shock as lightning appeared to travel through the two of them. He could see that Goetz was just as surprised, gasping as it ran through him.

The lighting grew brighter and soon the light enveloped both of them. There was a loud crack of power before the room went dark. Everything went black for him for a moment. Cid slowly felt himself come to and he looked around his room. He had been standing up, no longer bound to a wheelchair.

In the wheelchair in front of him was his body, slumped back in the chair as if he had fallen asleep. It wasn’t ideal but he wasn’t going to risk moving his body when Goetz would wake up. This would have to do and he would have to be quick. Cid clenched his hands, seeing that it was the same as when he had taken of Tarji’s body. He was in full control.

He focused his thoughts on recalling memories, finding himself thinking about Goetz’s past memories. Just as he had thought, he was also able to access their memories too. With this, he should be able to get any information he needed as long as he had swapped bodies successfully. Cid tried moving his body, testing out the physical ability. Sure enough, he also had access to Goetz’s skills.

Not wanting to pass up this chance, Cid left his body in his room and stepped outside. It felt good to be walking again, much to his distaste it had to be in someone else’s body. Cid decided to go on a small stroll, enjoying being in a body capable of walking again. He couldn’t help but marvel at Goetz’s great size and strength. His whole body felt like a wall of muscle, each step was heavier than he was used to. It truly felt like he was a titan of a man.

Cid felt like he could probably lift anything or anyone. He was strong as himself but he didn’t have Goetz’s type of build. It was like he was wider and thicker, almost as if he was wearing five sets of armor on his body. He also wondered how Goetz wasn’t a warrior with a body like this. He could easily take on five men at one time! It was too risky to go picking fights but it excited Cid at the idea of trying it out at least once.

While he was enjoying his experience, he saw Vivian walking in the same hallway. As she came closer, another thought had crossed his mind. Was his powers tied to his soul or his body? Could he take over another body just by using his power? It was worth a shot, worst case scenario he just makes things awkward between Vivian and Goetz. She was getting closer and his window of opportunity was growing smaller. He stopped, choosing to try it anyways.
