Christmas Tree Lot

Despite the distance, Madison felt like helping families pick out their tree would be a meaningful, festive way to spend the season. She replied to the job posting and got selected for a phone interview. The man interviewing her, Bernard, seemed like a jolly old farmer. They got along well and he offered her a position. She graciously accepted. Bernard sent her the address- a whopping hour-long drive from her home. Her first day was slated to be on Friday, just in time for the weekend rush.

On the appointed day, Madison was prepared. She decided to go for a cute look as a way to impress customers. She wore a pair of stylish light brown boots, a pair of light blue jeans, a white turtle-neck sweater, and a long brown wool coat. With her she also brought a pair of fuzzy white gloves and a beanie with a pom-pom, expecting it to get colder later in the day. Luckily, the weather forecast for the day predicted no snow and consistent 40-degree weather. As the engine to Madison’s car roared to life, she took a deep breath. The first day jitters were real. She turned on the radio, only to become annoyed that literally every station played only Christmas music. With an anxious sigh, she set off on a journey to the countryside.
