“Character Creation?”

Skye nodded. “To safeguard thine souls, I’m taking you to my world. A fantastic plane of magic and valor. Thine eight maidens will be reincarnated as the eight princesses of Coloradia. Representatives of their races and nations to the crown Prince.”

“W-what?”

“Birthed they shall be into my world, as denizens of Coloradia!”

“WHAT?”

The goddess sighed. “Hear me. Eight vacancies exist in my world, we shall assign one girl to each. Thusly shall we send their souls to the safe haven of their new lives. Then shall we collect them again, and begin our quest.”

“They’ll be reincarnated… will they remember me?”

“Blessedly yes. Their new lives will feel like roles they have adopted on stage. At their core they will remain who they have been.”

Gave nodded, gratefully. “It would have been easier if they forgot.”

“Assuredly.”

He took a deep breath, and watched his team hover there. He was sending them to new lives… that was the purview of gods and Buddhas, and now him. It would have gone to his head if his brain wasn’t trying to bang its way out of his head. “Okay, where do we start?”

A controller appeared in his hand. Above Anna a spotlight flashed down on her. In blocky text “Human” appeared above her head.

Gabe tapped down on the controller and the text changed to “Elf” in a flash Anna’s body changed. Her normal gamer bod was gone, now it was stretched out over nearly seven feet. She limbs looked long and delegate, and her ears were long and pointed.

Gabe was so shocked he dropped the controller and there her mutated body floated peaceful as ever in the safety of the womb.

He opened his mouth to ask what happened, but stopped himself. In truth he was figuring this all out, but asking seemed like the right thing to do. He didn’t want to feel like he’d figured out something so wrong. Surely this wasn’t as bad as it all seemed. He was being given the choice to change their race.

He picked up the controller, and flicked the race back to human. Anna’s body was back. He pressed confirm. Then he did the same for Lana and Jasmine.

He went to confirm Night as human, but the void glowed red when he did.

Skye spoke up. “I’m afraid only three princesses can be human. In addition, there must be one princess of each other race.”

Gabe shook. “That’s too much for me. I can’t decide which ones to keep human! You do it.” He held the controller out to her. You’re a god, this is what you guys do.”

The goddess smiled. “Thou art these women’s god now.” She raised her hand to ease his surging anger. “But worry not, I shall show you how to make wise and just decisions with the wisdom of Athena divine.”

His eyes went wide. “Really?”

She nodded and brought one of her gigantic god fingers to his forehead. “Open yourself up to the will of the audience,”

“The audience?”

Skye nodded. “They’re an unseen **** that surround our world. They know all, and see all. Consult them in moments like this, and they will show you the way.”

That sounded useful, if confusing. There was a god, the things that made her, and then these beings that watched the world and guided people. There was just too much to take in.

He closed his eyes and felt a great cacophony in his mind. A million different opinions crowded his head. It seemed that the audience was not of one mind, but after a few moments their opinions seemed to organize into distinct thoughts within his mind. Prime among them. “Check all the options.”

Gabe saw that his controller had an info button, so he clicked it.

The Options for the girls were

Human: The Contestant will be mostly unaffected in appearance and personality.

The humans of Coloradia exist in two distinct groups. The stoic and religious northerners in their snow strewn citadels to the north. And the whimsical Southlanders who reside in the magical Oasis city at the center of The Golden Desert.

Elf: The Contestants body will change to become a tall and lithe elf, great of beauty and swift of foot. Their personality will become more reserved, and sexually modest, while also becoming more intelligent and arrogant.

The elves of Coloradia are widely considered to be the most beautiful creatures in the land. Fitting because their culture values beauty and art, which their long lives help them master. They’re also considered the world’s biggest prudes having a distaste for exposed skins many go decades between mating sessions.

Dwarf: Dwarves are short, study, and hairy. A contestant’s personality will become more industrious, stubborn and familial as this race.

The Dwarfs of Coloradia inhabit a vast kingdom of underground habitats beneath The Dragons Rest Mountains. Their sexual habits are comparable to humans, but Dwarfs love having big families so they tend to mate for life with a single love.

Halfling: halfling are short, chubby and got them big hairy feet. Contestants personalities will become more jovial, innocent, and lazy.

Halflings live in an idyllic slice of land filled with plenty of food and good weather. They spend most of their time relaxing and eating in orchards that pretty much tend to themselves. Halflings like to say they believe in true love but most couples have two or three extramarital partners each, who all occasionally get together for orgies.

Orcs: Orcs are tall, green skinned, and naturally athletic. A contestant’s personality will become more outgoing, aggressive and competitive.

Orcs are an all female race who live on an island paradise off from the main continent of Coloradia. They were uplifted by Silophan The God of War from common goblins, and cursed to regress into their lowly cousins if they ever lose their edge as warriors. As such their island is home to fierce athletic competitions. Most Orcs have only ever seen or pleasured other females.

Goblin: goblins are short, have green skin, and big ears! A contest’s personality will become more submissive, sadistic, and chaotic

Goblins are more or less considered pests in Coloradia. This all female race is consumed by their need to breed. With the ability to produce a fully goblin daughter after mating with almost anything, they aren’t picky. They tend to be the minions of villains because they breedly quickly and are easy to coerce. Their country is less a country and more of a nature reserved set aside for them to harass and breed with the dangers of their monster invested land, and keep them out of everyone else’s hair.

Drow: drow are evil elves who’ve never seen the sun. There have white skin, white hair and tall willowy features. A contestant’s personality will become more sadistic, clever, and misandrist.

The Drow are a race of Elves who were sexually liberated by Loth the goddess of bondage. They were driven underground by their prudish cousins and now inhabit vast sex dungeons beneath the earth capturing and training peoples and breasts into sex slaves for fun and profit.

“An option turns one of them evil?”

Skye lowered her head. “I’m afraid so. It will be up to you to nurture her inner goodness, or squash it.”

Gabe once again found himself in shock. “What kind of god are you?” He asked. “Are YOU evil?”

Skye tilted her head. “I am neither good, nor evil. No more of either than the winds that carries embers into the forest. I am function, and that function is to facilitate this quest. I suffer not from ego nor doubt. I judge not how you wish to play the game.”

Gabe grumbled. “So you have no opinion on all of this?”

She floated there considering this. “Opinion… I would rather do this with thee, and save lives than another less needy group. It is my opinion that you are a being above these women, and deserve their worship. It is my opinion that Vera is the cutest of thine slaves!”

“What do you mean I’m above them? Because I’m a man?”

“Not at all. Women have undertaken the quest before. thou art in posession of the will and desire to dominate them. They lack this quality.”

Gabe was wondering if it wouldn’t be more humane to just let them all die. Wouldn’t that be better than to subject them to this entity?

No.

He just didn’t have the stomach for that.

“Your function…” he stared up at her, in all her beauty and billowing cloth. “Someone is making you do this.”

“Yes.”

“Do you want to be doing this?”

She smiled. “As I compel you, so too am I compelled.”

He looked to his floating team. “And on and on.”

She tilted her head, and the two shared a great and divine sigh. “Has the audience come to a decision?”
