Chloe And Ashley Watch Over Zack

Chloe and Ashley quickly lifted up their **** boyfriend, Brandon's two punches weren't very damaging but they were highly effective. Zack had a split lip and minor swelling around his left eye but everything else seemed to be okay, or at least that's what Chloe and Ashley were hoping. As the two girls laid the teen down on the mattress, they both began to do vastly different things, Ashley looked nearly broken by what happened and could only move up to Zack's head, stroking his hair while taking his hand in her other. Chloe, on the other hand, went completely on the defensive, heading towards the tent door, zipping it up before looking out the small mesh window, trying to see what the other's were doing.

"That was fucking...Brandon had no right," Chloe fumed, "What gives him the right? He's angry? So what, I've been angry all week, and so have you. What have we done to each other? I slapped you and you slapped me, but we weren't going to-ugh, solve one problem, and another one has to fucking start." Chloe took a step away from the window and lowered her hand rubbing her brow while sighing irritably.

Chloe looked back to Ashley who looked on the verge of tears, oddly enough, this made Chloe even angrier. Ashley hadn't earned the right for Chloe to feel sympathy for her but she did, after hearing her with Zack, Chloe felt a bit for the girl. Of course, everything that was happening stemmed right from Ashley's actions, especially from the handling of her last relationship. Chloe rolled her bottom jaw and wandered to the other side of Zack, sitting down across from Ashley, staring at the girl intently for a minute. Ashley's wet eyes flicked up to Chloe's face causing her to sniffle and wipe them quickly, "What?"

"You crying out of worry, or pity?" Chloe asked as she leaned forward and inspected Zack's face,

"I don't know...both, I guess," Ashley mumbled back while squeezing Zack's hand, "I should have just left, I should never have-"

"Oh for god sakes just shut up, Ashley," Chloe suddenly said as she lifted Zack's head and placed a pillow underneath it. Ashley squeezed her eyes shut and waited, waited for Chloe to tell her to leave, and this time, Ashley was willing to listen. All week Ashley had been going crazy, fighting like a beast out of hell for Zack, burning bridge after bridge, ruining so many relationships in a mad attempt to gain Zack as a boyfriend, as a lover. Never once was she considering the consequences. But after getting Zack and having to face what she did to get there, then seeing the outcome of her actions...seeing that Zack was going to be **** to pay for them, Ashley nearly hated herself. "You can't help who you love," Chloe suddenly said causing Ashley to snap up at her in shock,

"W-what?" Ashley stammered back,

Chloe let out a sigh, not believing that she was actually saying this after everything that happened. She let her head fall back and she stared up at the tent ceiling, "You...You can't help who you love, Ashley." She reiterated, "I," Chloe softly said while looking over at the girl, "I don't know if I can say that everything you did had cause, in fact, I can't really say any of it did. But that's because I don't know how you felt. I don't know what it's like to love someone but not have access to them, to watch them pick someone over you and leave you in the dust, and that's what I was fighting against you for." Chloe explained while Ashley intently looked back at her, "I didn't want to know what it felt like to be you. I kept telling myself over and over, that you were just a crazy turned on bitch who was bent on fucking Zack until you got bored and moved on,"

"I wasn't," Ashley whimpered back while squeezing Zack's hand again,

"Oh you were crazy, there's no doubting that," Chloe sharply corrected her, "But you weren't just doing it for sex, I can see that now." Chloe let out a small cough, clearing her throat before smiling as she looked down at Zack, "He's always been the most amazing person in my life, everything I ever wanted and needed, I just didn't know that until this week, same as you."

"I'm sorry Chloe," Ashley weakly told the girl, "I...I can't make up for what I did, the only reason I'm even able to say that is because you gave me a chance. You let me near Zack, took a leap just to get me off your back, and that wasn't fair for me to make you do that. No person should feel **** to share their partner just to find some peace from losing them. I-I should have been a decent person and left you two the fuck alone,"

"But you didn't," Chloe simply shrugged back, "And you know what, this here, what we're doing, is fine with me." She firmly stated, "Zack's one of the only guys I think is capable of being there for more than one person, he's never going to treat this as...I don't know, he won't take advantage of this. I know that in my heart," Ashley let out a small smile and nodded in agreement, "I...I like this, it's new and I'm sure we'll have some trouble at some point, but every relationship does."

"Yeah, trouble as in me getting our boyfriend attacked," Ashley bitterly tacked on,

"That wasn't you, that was Brandon. You can't control how other people will lash out," Chloe immediately denied, "You made Brandon mad, but he's the one who decided to take it out on Zack. He's the one who felt the need to get violent. Victoria is judging us, Kurt is jealous of us, and Brandon is pissed off at us," Chloe listed with a small shake of her head, "But we don't have to change a thing to make other people happy."

Ashley looked up at Chloe, almost confused by the touching sentiment, "Why are you doing this? You're fighting for something that keeps me in the picture,"

"Because you can be happy," Chloe smiled back, "I'm happy, Zack's happy and without any issue, we can both make you happy, why shouldn't I fight for that? What because Gavin's going to give me funny looks? Or maybe Kurt will keep leering at me, trying to see if he can get in on this? Fuck that, we three worked something out and I'm gonna make sure we're the only ones who will end it, case closed."

Ashley wet her lips before letting out a bursting exhale, leaning over Zack to embrace Chloe happily, "Thank you, thank you, thank you," She quickly said to the athletic girl as she rocked her back and forth wildly, "I don't deserve this, but thank you so much, Chloe,"

"You were a good friend at one point Ashley, and doing this can make you probably one of my best friends," Chloe hummed back, "I'm willing to give that a shot any day of the week,"

"Wow, isn't that sweet," Zack weak voice teased causing the two girls to gasp and look down at him,

"Zack, oh god, baby, are you okay? Does anything hurt?" Ashley rapidly asked,

"You want water? I can get you some," Chloe instantly offered, "How's your head?"

Zack let out a rather pained smile as he carefully sat up, Chloe moved a hand to his back in support while he groaned, "I'm, fuck, I'm fine, really," He nodded back, trying to ease the girls minds, "Good to hear you two are keeping things together,"

"Yeah," Ashley smiled while glancing at Chloe for a moment, "We are,"

"You remember what happened?" Chloe asked,

"You mean, do I remember Brandon kicking my ass, then yeah, I do," Zack chuckled before groaning again, "My jaw hurts," He winced causing Ashley to softly whine and lean forward, hugging him tightly, "That helps," He smirked causing Chloe to giggle, "Could use a little more though," He added on while looking at his best friend. Chloe instantly moved forward as well, joining the embrace happily.

Zack let himself fall back, Chloe and Ashley going with him until they were all laying down. Ashley ever so slightly moved around so her head was pushing into the crook of Zack's neck, her arm hanging over his stomach while Chloe turned onto her side, letting it rest on Zack's shoulder. "I think Zack should rest more, right?" Chloe asked Ashley causing the girl to hum back in agreement, "Hear that mister?"

"Got it," Zack mumbled back as his arms moved around so they were resting on both girls backs, "You two okay though?"

"Better now," Ashley whispered back as Zack's hold instantly comforted her,

"Chloe?" Zack asked,

"I felt better the second I kicked Brandon to the ground," Chloe snickered back, "Hope he'll remember that next time he thinks about touching you," Zack brow raised but he could only lightly chuckle, it looked like he along with getting an extra girlfriend, he also was getting some capable protection. With that finished Zack shut his eyes, his body willing him back to sleep to heal, with both Chloe and Ashley following suit rather quickly.
