Chapter 5 by ShadeWriter ShadeWriter

And Who?

Chizuru Honshō

The tome sensed something, a presence akin to those inside and those it wished to convert to it's calling. The imps inside started to giggle and began to work the tome out of the tree. While they couldn't exit the Tome without an owner, and warping would waste a charge of it's power, they could have the tome manipulate the area around it ever so slightly. Such as moving a few branches out of the way. They only needed to time it right.

"MMMM what a day...," the woman muttered to herself as she walked down the street. A bit on the thinner side, the uniform she wore still clung to her form just fine. As a hostess, she did need to look good, even for all the men that came through. A simple black sleeveless dress with crisscross at waist, v shaped neckline, with a small black jacket hung over a shoulder. Heels were in her large purse, swapped for sneakers on the walk home. He short red hair off setting her purple eyes behind her glasses.

Chizuru Honshō, proud lesbian and currently the night hostess of a Karaoke bar, not the best job in the world but she was popular with both genders that came through. Able to charm and sweet talk most people, but getting rather catty with those that were openly hostile to their suddenly souring dates. Chizuru often had to kick some of the more angry customers out while comforting their friends or date. Just a warm bubbly but firm(and maybe bitchy) personality, perfectly fit to run a service like this.

"Another good night of work..., ugh think I pulled something with throwing that one drunk out." Chizuru thought to herself as she walked. Her mind drifted back to having to roughly drag someone twice her size out of a room and push him into the arms of the police. Wasn't always the case, but sometimes couples would come to try and reignite their love with a night of song and drink. Little fire again for the pair. But there were the nights, like last night, where those songs turned to shouting.

"Fat ass." Chizuru thought as a scowl came over her face, "You have a good wife and a good job yet you just have to scream like a little brat. UGH, comforting the hopefully soon to be ex-wife wasn't fun. Always hard to get them to understand 'you're not at fault it's the guy how's a dick'. I can't be too hard on them..., maybe I should switch majors." The thought of helping people put a little spring in her step.

Right now it was just for business but maybe she could swap to some sort of consoling or supportive work. She couldn't do what her old friends could do but after seeing them stand up for the town and fight those..., things, a sort of nagging feeling to do more hung around Chizuru's mind. She still got a few nightmares about that day Aizen tried to..., take over the world? Upset balance? She wasn't quite sure, nor was confident she would understand it again if someone explained it to her.

"Wonder how they're doing?" She muttered aloud as she put her arms behind her head, still holding the bag. She new Ichigo and Orihime were dating which still bothered her. Not the fact that her 'Hime' was dating someone that wasn't herself..., okay that stung still just a bit. Chizuru however knew the line between teenage wacky fun and stalker terrority, and she didn't want to cross that line. More than anything she just wanted Orihime happy.

It was more Ichigo didn't get with Rukia, the two seemed so in tune with each other. Still the fact the two remained close friends was probably better in the long run. "Hmm though I wonder what happened to that transfer girl..., Rangiku?" Chizuru thought as she went down the list of friends she hadn't seen in awhile.

She still lived in town just..., on the other side of it. She wanted to give them space to do whatever was that whole spirit world thing. Maybe put some distance between herself and danger. She saw them from time to time, even gave them discounts if they came by..., there was an idea.

"Heheh, I should get them together again for a party." She thought, a sly grin coming to Chizuru's face, "Just to catch up on old times..., see who's still singl-ACK!"

Something hard and slightly heavy landed on her head sending her falling to the ground. Her arms raised up to make sure she didn't slam her face into the concrete. Pulling herself into a sitting position, legs placed sideways to make sure her skirt kept closed, the woman rubbed her head and looked around. The only thing in the side path with her were a few trees, a couple of lamp posts and a book..., weird.

"Where did you come from?" She muttered as she reach over and picked it up. It looked a bit like a manga, soft cover and pink in color. Pretty thick book though but it was largely empty as she flipped through it. It only had a couple pages near the start. "Weird..., some sort of proof of concept manga?" Chizuru thought as she stood up.

It felt oddly wrong to just leave it there, so she just placed it into her bag and went on her way. Maybe she could find the owner of it tomorrow.

Inside, the Imps just giggled, the voices echoing around her bag.

Walking out of her shower with just a towel and her boxers, Chizuru made herself comfy at the low table in her living room, cracking open a beer. Normally she didn't drink but after a shift like last night, she wanted one. And she had off tomorrow anyway so what's the harm in getting a little buzzed.

Her place was a small apartment, one that had a combo of living room, dinning area and kitchen. A door lead to the bath room she had just exited, one of the benefits of this place was a NICE large tub she could soak in. Bed room was off to the side, about half the size of her living area. Not the best she could find but the better ones were expensive. This was nice enough and she had just the right amount of room for guests if they came over. Well IF they came over, but hey at least she wasn't in some sort of tiny closet apartment.

Chizuru stretched out on the carpet covered floor, just basking in the afterglow of her bath and day. And then her mind went back to the one weird part, that book that hat dropped on her head. Sitting up and scooting over to her bag, she brought it out before moving off to the couch. Stretching out, she plopped herself fully on the couch and cracked the manga open.

It seemed to be more an info/art book than an actual manga. The first page claiming that if you said the names of anyone listed, they would appear before you. What sort of weird twisted fantasy book was this? Still, the artwork of the girls was nice. Fit and strong with the RIGHT level of thickness. Werid that they were kinda short though.

Two of them seemed almost like sisters. Well all three did, but two of them were labled as 'ninja' and had matching power sets. The two wore tight ninja like slteath outfits, as if from some sort of horny ninja game, with plenty of cleavage exposed. Mayu and Nanami, the former being more up beat while the latter sounding like a stickler for the rules. "Honestly reminds me of Orihime and Tatsuki." She thought as she flipped the page.

Then there was Kaede, the 'Mistress' which was... kinda hot honestly. She wore a simple china like dress, with plenty of leg exposed and stockings, along with a hilt-less sword by her side, and a big jug tided around her waist. While it was a drawing, how she managed to fit all that hip and bust into an outfit like that was boggling.

"So what is this, some kinda.... fantasy waifu book that's half done?" Chizuru muttered as she flipped through the pages before taking another drink from her beer. She was a little buzzed now and wondered what it meant by 'say the name, they appear'. Oh what the heck, what harm could it do? Besides it's little short stacks not those weird monsters.

What name does Chizuru say?
