You can't believe it. You're on the cheer squad!

Sure, guys can be cheerleaders too, but you’ve never met one, and you sure as hell never wanted to be one!

"Okay ladies," you feel your face glowing red as coach Kean introduces you to her squad. "I'm sure you all know Sam here, our sure-footed running back. He'll be joining us for our training sessions for the next few weeks, so I want you all to make him feel welcome."

A ripple of questions and objections passes through the group, but Ms. Kean cuts them off firmly.

"I know, I know this very unusual, but Sam is in an unusual situation, and I'm sure you won't object to helping him out. Let's all work together, like I know we can and we'll be sure to learn form the experience."

The last part, clearly intended for you as much as the others, delivered along with a reassuring squeeze of your shoulder.

"Now, let's make a start, shall we? Tina," she singles out a tall blonde girl with an amused smirk on her face. "With Kristin out injured, I'm moving you up to the first squad. Sam, I want you to stick with Tina. She'll show you the ropes, okay?"

You join Tina and the rest of the girls feeling acutely self-conscious, but Coach Kean doesn't give you much chance to dwell. She starts off with what she calls a gentle warm-up, and soon all your attention is on keeping up...
