Checking out the locale

Sif and Thrud made their way out of New Asgard by horseback, their guards at the gates giving them a salute as they travelled down the road, the trek to the nearest village was merely a short hour to cross. When they got there, their presence was quite the sight for the mortals who looked up to the small parade of winged warriors marching in left and right flanks to the two women on horse back. The village itself was not too impressive. Mostly propped up after the calamity of Ragnarok, but for the most part despite the scent of freshly cut wood and mortar, the village already looked well lived in.

The mother and daughter Aesir noticed a market to their right where several dozen people stopped in their tracks to look up at the pair, while on the other side there was a lake with fisherman returning with a haul. Up ahead there was a meeting grounds along with a place to eat and drink. She had sent a messenger earlier to let the leaders of the village know she was coming, and by the overly dressed group of people at what would best be declared their city hall, they were waiting for her just in time.

Dismounting from her steed with help from one of her valkyr, Sif cradled her long locks of golden blonde hair in her arm and regally made her way towards the steward of the village. Flanked by her guards, Sif raised her chin and marched her way towards the mortal men and women who stood in awe, their facial expressions showing they questioned whether to prostate themselves or simply avert their gaze out of respect before the steward opted to do the latter and bowed.

Finally stopping a few feet from the short and portly man in robes that looked heavier than HE was, Sif gave the man a stern look as she gave the village a final look around and nodded down to the man.

"I... Am Sif. Goddess of the Earth. I have come to visit your fair home to assess it for any trade and commerce with our people."

The steward took off his head dress, revealing he was rather balding underneath as he raised his head and discovered he was only tall enough to stare at her ample bosom before averting his eyes up to her stern gaze.

"I am steward Galvo, appointed leader of this village. I welcome you oh Sif of the mountains, Sif of the grassy valleys and Sif of the fields etern..."

Raising a hand to have him pause in her titles, the tall blonde nodded. "Yes, yes, thank you. Sif will suffice. We have much to talk about in the coming agreements between our homes, come, let us go inside."

"Yes, yes of course, we shall prepare food and drink as we discuss the arrangements." Galvo answered, swiftly putting his headdress back on and turned at the heel to join his advisors and make his way towards the large hall they stood behind.

Watching them head towards the wooden building, Sif felt a tug at her sleeve to find her daughter give her a bored look. "Mind if I wander around. I'm not one for sitting around scribbling paper."

Smiling somewhat, Sif looked over to the docks where she found several young men getting ready to fish, not surprisingly she also noticed Thrud would occasionally turn her gaze that way, urging to be in their company.

"You might be right my daughter, go on and mingle with the locals while I discuss plans with its elders. Oh! And just in case you might get thirsty..." Snapping her fingers, a valkerie pulled a drinking bladder from the pack and graciously handed it to Sif. "Take this with you."

"Gee, thanks MOM." Rolling her eyes and turning to leave, Thrud almost skipped her way towards the boys and left her mother to head into the building in front of them. It took a fair bit of self control for the Aeser queen to hide her excitement, seeing her plan come together smoothly.
